||Sleepy Sundays||
The morning sun rays piercing through the French doors, reflecting off the water surface illuminated the room, outlining his sharp features and shone through the water droplets that were running down his hair aimlessly.
He smiled at her sleeping figure as he rubbed the white towel against his hair and applied some vanilla flavored moisturizer.
Today was the day that he waited for all week long. No meetings, no deals, no plastered smiles, no yelling at Aman, no layered formal suits and no strong colognes.
He dressed up in his casuals, a light grey hoodie with the strings falling around his neck, paired with a black trouser and a few specks of the icy body spray here and there.
While all week long he was the working machine throwing orders, signing contracts but today Arnav Singh Raizada was an ordinary man, who just spent the day with his wife making every moment significant.
He walked around the bed to her side and bit his lower lip from laughing at his wife's fancy sleeping positions reminding him of the struggle he has to go through every night to get his much needed sleep.
She lay there oblivious to the world, mouth half open, strands from her lose braid peeking from the duvet. Her one leg lay under the folded layers of the duvet while her toes of the other were exposed through the grey fabric and both her hands were spread on the bedspread.
Oh how peaceful she looked while sleeping, only if one hadn't witnessed the high spirited chirpy girl during the day who would go on his nerves on any given minute, annoying but cute.
Not being able to take the killing silence he tried to wake her up
"Khushi, wake up"
He tried once, twice and thrice. Fail attempt every single time.
"khushiii wake up" he sounded impatient while he shook her
"kia hai, insaan do minute so bhi nahi sakta" she whined as she moved over to her side pulling the duvet closer to her face.
"kyunke insaan do ghante se so raha hai!' he said as he got annoyed at her for forgetting that it was 'their' day today and she was just wasting it and well he just wanted her to be up already!
"ufff! Kia masla hai" she said in a grumpy voice not loving the constant irritation from her husband.
"khushii….kia hai, aaj Sunday hai don't tell me you forgot" he said complaining like a five year old whose mother didn't keep a comprise.
"kia hojayega agar main do minute so jaongi? Apni biwi ki itni khushi bardasht nahi hoti na?" she said pinching air with her index finger and thumb to make a point.
"khushi nahi, yeh kaho neend poori kar rahi ho… aur dekho raat raat jag kar filmein, kaha tha na so jao"
He said reminding her of the last night's events.
"ab laad governor mat bano, sone do mujhe!"
"khushi tum uthi ho ke main.." he said giving her the final warning to which Khushi seemed unaffected like always.
He pulled the duvet off of her while splashing the glass of water at her face directly resulting in her shocked expression. Eyebrows crunched up, eyes popped out while her jaw hung down followed by her running after him with a stack of pillows that she didn't take a second before attacking him with.
Moments later they were having their special breakfast of jalebis and scrambled eggs by the poolside and unlimited chatter hung in the air.
With that Arnav Singh Raizada had wasted another half of his day in waking up his sleeping beauty which like always ended with their endless laughter, nonsense bickering and many dreams woven for the future, leaving the two waiting for another beautiful yet a sleepy Sunday.
