Don't expect high trp tomorrow. updated

Tomorrow is TRP day and the forum is definitely expecting a rise, But logically, I doubt the trp would rise much because last week the TRP of Mahadev hit a 3.3 during Shiv-Parvati wedding. Before Mahadev, BV was the only competitor for IPK and after Mahadev started it maintained a steady trp of 2.0-2.4 which is decent for a new channel Life OK.

But last week during the wedding it hit a 3+ for the first time (It was reported by TB) and maybe the rest of the week was good too and the channel promoted the marriage really well and promos were eye catching.

So if that's the case I doubt IPK would see much of rise in TRPs for last week. Normally, trps of all shows rise during weddings. Arhi remarriage is coming up to but I fail to understand why the channel is airing a blink and a miss roka promo. I think promo is atleast 5-6 seconds shorter than it should have been. Promo's are usually made 20-30 seconds so that they are noticeable and grabs the viewers attention. But the roka promo is only 14-15 seconds.

I'd love to be proved wrong but I don't really think we would see much of rise at least in last week's trp. I don't understand what the channel is doing, they should promote Arhi wedding and all the rasams more. The channel decides the airing of promos but it is shot by PH. I think for Lions should be careful about the content of the promos and make them more interesting.

Mahadev promoted the wedding for weeks and IPK should do the same. It's not only Arhi remarriage, so many interesting things are happening in the show. This is the best time to promote all of it because it takes time to generate interest among the viewers.

Yeah I'm really not expecting anything from TRP day tomoro either, in fact I'll be surprised if it goes any higher - not because I think it doesn't deserve to because it totally does with the current track. The reason I think it won't go higher is like you said - promotion or lack thereof. I've tried very hard to think unbiasedly but no matter how hard I try, I cannot help but notice how low in priority IPK's promotion is to StarPlus. It's a fact that's right there in the viewing:

I can sit here right now and reel off exactly what's happening in the top 3 shows on SP - not because I watch any of those shows (I don't) but because the promo's air SO frequently I can't escape from them, if I miss one, it's right there in the next ad break - or (puke alert) our own beloved show is being forced to promote it!😒

In comparison, I haven't seen the IPK roka promo yet at all... the last I saw was Dadi entering, I think in the UK we get 1 IPK promo an evening - if we're lucky and it's hardly ever the right one for what is airing at that time anyway, it's about 3 days behind. My point is if I didn't watch the show I wouldn't even KNOW there's a wedding happening between them right now!

As I understand it, promo's come at the request of the channel and to me the above comparison shows how 'important' we are on the SP radar. It's almost as if they know IPK has a core fanbase but don't really care if it increases or not - which is the worst business sense I've ever come across!

What's currently happening is that those who watch the show continue to watch it but those who don't, or used to in the past but don't now aren't getting drawn into the story because there isn't really any promotional marketing being done. It's all half-hearted blink and you miss it stuff. The show lost fans during the post marriage comedy phase and kidnapping but now nothing is being done to get those fans back or raise the show's profile.

A clear example: when one character shaved his head (or got a buzz cut more like) on a show I will not name here, it was advertised and promoted so much and for so long, on SO many social networking fronts that even Martians must have heard about it! When ASR FINALLY said I love you face to face with Khushi on the terrace after a WHOLE YEAR of waiting, who knew about it? Yep - ONLY us fans who watch it regularly. And maybe one or two who flicked over by mistake...

And that right there IMO is why TRP isn't increasing and most likely won't increase anytime soon. Any TRP increase (if it miraculously happens) will be solely down to the quality of the show and it's fanbase and in no way can SP take credit for it cos in my opinion they simply don't deserve to with such atrocious marketing strategies!

PS: Sorry for the rant, I haven't gone into any detail about shows on other channels in the same time-slot because I don't watch them. It sounds like they are marketed a lot better, more aggresively and that itself should make the channel take notice really, if it doesn't then I don't see what anyone can do tbh...
