One irate member here struggling with the use of the English language and rather a desperate need to clarify one or two aspects of this
Overutilized incorrectly and abused without much thought in its delivery and randomly brought up whenever a member deems she is upset at a particular post or at another member this rather maligned extensively used word that springs to mind is BASH/BASHING
My rather naive mind immediately projects itself to a Tom and Jerry scenario
Jerry being chased by Tom with a skillet pan going round and round in circles
Jerry ducking and diving avoiding the 'bashing' that Tom wheels slipping and sliding at the rate of hundred miles an hour
More often then not Jerry getting the better of Tom
Old as I maybe this can still make me chuckle with mirth at their comical antics
Somehow much as I may try I cannot for the life of me conjure up an image of Khushi chasing Arnav with a skillet pan. Or vice versa
Immediately the word bash/bashing irks me when its used in context of any post that vaguely spells any nuances or ounce of so called 'negativity' against our lovely ASR/ Arnav or the man himself Mr Barun Sobti! Even the DTs have been using this word liberally
When this word is employed repeatedly particularly as its relevance and meaning is lost in translation as well at its delivery point, I can assure you I am not chuckling. Not even a glimmer of a smile. I do wonder if one was to take a survey, the word bash might be in the top five poll position in this Forum
There are as follows:
Men bashing jokes
Male bashing jokes
Female bashing jokes
Man bashing quotes
Guy bashing quotes
Boy bashing quotes
Etc, etc , and etc
There are also as follows:
Gay- bashing
Feminist- bashing
China-bashing
Etc, etc and etc
The definition of the word bashing according to the good book , the dictionary is as follows

bashing

noun
1. the act of beating, whipping, or thrashing: a series of unsolved bashings and robberies.
2. a decisive defeat: We gave the visiting team a good bashing.
3. (used in combination)
a. unprovoked physical assaults against members of a specified group: gay-bashing.
b. verbal abuse, as of a group or a nation: feminist-bashing; China-bashing.
I am aware this particular word maybe used in the context of bashing anyone or any organisation but I must humbly ask whether this one word is overutilized and chewed and regurgitated over and over? Ad nauseam
Are we in need of a better and maybe more 'delicate' word?
Without Tom and Jerry's escapades immediately leaping to one's mind?
Sigggh the thought has crossed my mind of the possibility that I stand alone in this debacle
Am I flying solo here perplexed in this quandary, as ever, with the customary practice of this word of the English language?

Hiya Lovie🤗
You know darlin the joke is no one knows the meaning of the term BASH and use it as they please. Frankly speaking I never knew that voicing an opinion which may not be favourable considered as bashing?? whatever that means.
Call me an independent woman and hear me roar...I do not follow a person or an actor for that matter because of his looks or fan following. When I see a Nasurdeen Shah or Om Puri's acting I am bowled over because I cannot imagine anyone emoting such emotion...then when I see a certain Harvard boy mumbling then it does makes me wonder...
I love how you say things in an extremelly diplomatic manner, wish I was the same😊
On other note, how is the weekend going?

Awww hopefully you will be feeling sleepy soon lovie, my weekend is going good, bit tired but that was expected given I have this bad habit of pulling all nighter😉
Thank you darlin for the lovely compliment, it truly means a lot😊
I actually adore Mr Shah, if you look at him looks wise he is not the best looking guy but when you see him emoting and acting, you want to take a bow...they are theater artist so they dont have takes to work on their skills ...I do not watch many bollywood movies, but to compare say Sir Hopkins with Govinda will be stupid and silly...similarly comparing a certain someone to one of the top stars again is the same silliness isnt it?
I know I am not this philosophical but am bored today...

Lol atleast your staying up has one benefit, we get to read some really pondering posts...
Another actor I absoutely adore is Ms Shabana Azmi...when I had watched the movie Arth...I became an instant fan of hers...that movie was so innovative in a time when everything was regressive...I loved how she refused her husband who cheated on her to take him back and also denied her lover the same thing...thats independent woman in my books...
Then we watch willow who wants a boy child who will remind her of her cheating hubby...in this day and age...and her refusal to have a bump...honestly how I ever take an actress seriously when she herself is refusing that right???when you are an actor you act according to the story...
Back to the topic BASHING!!!!! that word has no meaning...everyone uses it to justify their behaviour and the only thing I will say is ignorance truly is bliss

Can't say I have watched any movies ith Ms Azmi in it
Then again I haven't much patience in watching very long drawn out films
BW films do tend to be rather protracted

It is a very good movie, but I do agree that it does tend to drag on and on...specially the song and dance..lol...imagine that happening in reality???we will be in the point and laugh category...
I adore my hollywood movies ...bollywood is recreational activity...also it helps with understanding Hindi...one way to tell parents that I am learning the language that ancestors came from...old fashioned I know ...
That is the reason I am surprised at myself for liking this show so much...go figure...

I agree about the song and dance
This show has hoodwinked and enticed so many of us and it would be an interesting exercise to find out what exactly is its attraction for so many of us
