Hi.. 😃 yes, i know. I should be revising but i'm here with an OS! 😳 Probably I could have updated my SS, but I was in a mood to write something new and hence, this.. Read it, and tell me how was it.
'Your sister's marriage is safe with my brother and you are free from the contract now', Arnav Singh Raizada declared to Khushi while they stood by the pool side.
Khushi had expected this but she had not thought that it would be so soon. She turned her heard towards the place where she just got up in response to his call.
Nani, Anjali, Manorama, NK, Anjali's new born baby and everyone else were seated together chatting away. It was just a moment ago when they were happily laughing when Khushi shared her childhood stories. It was a warm family and she had to miss them all now.
She faced Arnav again and saw him looking right into her eyes. His eyes were blank and it held no emotions. She pursed her lips in dismay and she just nodded at him before she retreated back to the family.
Arnav climbed the steps and saw them once again to find Khushi sitting there completely lost and with all spark in her eyes, gone. When he wanted to speak to her, she was with them laughing and playing with Anjali's baby. She readily walked to him when he signalled her to come to the poolside.
Now she's back there again. Not only to the location where she was. But also to her old life.
Anjali's baby was born, Shyam was thrown out- by Anjali after she came to know everything about him including his lust towards Khushi and now everything is back to its peaceful phase. Khushi was used by Arnav to make things right and now she's to be sent back.
He felt guilty for what he did to her after knowing everything about him and now he wanted to give her life back to her. He could not repair the damage he did to her but he can help her to reform her life with anything. As if she is going to need anything from him.
He attempted to distract his mind from her and drowned into his laptop.
Khushi tried to keep everyone until late night and spent a long time with them. She is not in their family anymore and she saved every moment into her mind with which she can find solace when she was lonely. All these days, Arnav had not paid any attention to her except the occasional moments when he would blurt asking her to take care of herself or to ask her to eat when she so much into her hobby.
But the family members had grown so much fond of her and so was she. But when she compared the attention and the care, she felt that she would miss Arnav a lot more than the others, which shocked her. She had grown feelings for him when she herself was not even aware of it.
It was too late and everyone went to bed pestering Khushi to go as well. She entered their room to find Arnav working in his laptop. He noticed her entering and tried to pretend unaffected. She hesitantly picked her pillow and blanket and walked towards the French door to sleep in her usual place. She turned around to see his face once before she went to sleep but only to find him stare her walking away.
She was touched by the gesture which made her ask, 'Can I sleep in the bed today?'
Arnav was surprised but he was ready to give her anything. 'Sure, I'll sleep on the recliner'. He walked to the bed and took a pillow.
'Umm, no. I' eh, you can also sleep on the bed,' she had mustered up the courage.
Arnav gets appalled very rarely. But it occurred that very moment. He could not dare to speak anything as he just nodded even before he deciphered the meaning.
She smiled slowly, 'Thank you'.
He just swallowed the dryness that seemed to capture his throat and lied down.
The night was slow as Khushi and Arnav took in their last moments together, second by second to cherish when they go apart. It will be an evergreen moment, fresh even with each other's smell.
It was not even dawn when Khushi sat upright by the edge of the bed. It was still dark outside and she was scared of the sunlight that's going to fill this room addressing the beginning of the day. The day on which she has to leave him.
She had cleared every accusation charged on her and now it was the only thing that comforted her. At least he won't be having the bad impression on her. She saw him with his eyes closed and his body still. His hand was rested near his head with him palm facing up. She saw the window again and felt the sunrays and heat emerging from the night. She gulped down in fear and slowly she let her hand entwine his hesitantly. She lied down again near him and closed her eyes to pretend to slumber.
He had not slept for a second that night as her presence beside him disturbed him and made him doubt his own determination to let her go. He faced every moment in tense as it was leading to the last day of their togetherness.
After what it felt like ages, he found her soft fingers hesitatingly binding with his. He felt tension in those hands and it slightly trembled as he instantly opened his eyes to look at her. Her eyes were closed and he took it as she was in sleep when she did it and so he clasped her finger tightly into his trying to provide her comfort.
Soon, it was morning and it was time for her to leave. Her hanging stars, Salman Khan's poster, her wardrobe, and everything of her were packed and arranged near the door. He saw her moving around the room collecting her things back and it was wrenching. But he chose to be insensible.
The moment was dead silent when she waited for him to speak something. He sensed the expectation but he was out of words to say anything. After all what would he speak about? But he had a hope. He wanted her to ask him if she could stay back forever.
Just tell me to stay back, Khushi thought. She looked at him hopefully as she stood by the cupboard while he sat silently on the recliner.
'You can take' anything, you want', he spoke it with breaks and pauses not facing her eyes.
She sighed exhausted and looked around. And her eyes rested on an object. It was his photo frame. The still which was taken when he showed up at the dance stage. She took it in her hands and showed it to him.
'Can I take this?'
His heart slammed into his ribs but he didn't show it except a nod. The smile she gave in response was priceless to him as it flashed brightly forgetting what they have went through and what he had made her go through.
She moved to pick her bags but Arnav took hold of them before her. 'I'll carry them'.
His actions kept surprising her. She again nodded. And he earned the courage to carry her luggage to get them out of his room. Not her memories out of his mind. They had not even stepped outside, but he stopped in his tracks.
He dropped the bags with a thud as Khushi stared at him shocked and confused.
'No. You can't go. I'm not letting you go,' he ran his hand into his thick hair.
She blinked uncertainly as she prayed for him to continue.
'Look, Khushi. Stay back. I don't want to see my room without your stupid stars and the posters. I cannot stay calm without hearing that annoying noise of the wind chimes. After above all, without your idiotic presence, I'll go mad', he yelled out in frustration out of the unknown feeling he was experiencing.
Khushi's appalled face was replaced with a smile as she spoke, 'Laad Governor, is that how you ask me to stay?'
'Then what do you expect me to do? Grab your legs and not let go?'
'You don't have to grab my legs. A word is enough', she drew quotation marks in the air, 'Stay!'
Arnav's lips twisted into a lopsided smile as he cupped her cheek with his hands. He placed a silent peck on her forehead as she savoured the moment.
'Let's go in', he carried her bags and walked into the room as Khushi saw his retreating posture with a smile that reached her eyes.
How was that? Nice, good, or crap? It just popped in when I was revising and I had to write it down. 😊
