okay I think I'm a bit confused in this matter. What actually happened to their parents...or is that not clear yet. Like I have seen that flash back where he's young but what exactly does it mean? Also I keep reading that some how Khushi's family is involved...what does that mean?

Can someone please help me with my confusion...

Well , as far as I've seen this show , they havent given us any sort of insight into what really happened to them , the only image of them shown was during a Pooja conducted at ASR's place on their death anniversary :)

i think smthg happened with father who betrayed their mom or got betrayed himself and did smthg stupid which resulted in breaking of anjali's shaadi at tht time .. they lost all their property , lost their parents at the same time .. my working theory is tht their father commited suicide on anjali's wedding day and their mother met with a accident on the same day .. i also think betrayal came in form of a opportunist middle class person hence the hatred towards middle class ppl ..

His mami mama, nani might have helped him. In the first few episodes Arnav bought jewelley for mami much against the wish of nani. When nani confronted him he said that he is in this place because of mami as she sold off her jewellery inorder to support him in his initial days of his buisiness.
