I agree with the post above. He was happy to be in a meaningless relationship with Lavanya - what was that about ? What need of his did that relationship satisfy ? The answer is still not clear to me.

I think his ego is bigger than both his love and hate.Perhaps Lavanya was just feeding his ego, so he was carrying on with her.

Now his ego won't let his love come through. Its not the hate that's stopping love, its ego.

He used to be rude even to Anjali till her accident, and only when he thought he nearly lost her, did he show any remorse, and then he cried in her lap, saying he had always been rude to her etc.

Does anyone else feel the same ?
