Hey S.Stephy,
It was beautiful and so sweet!
Your title itself intrigued me, and I couldn't stop myself from reading it!
I loved how you portrayed the bird and Khushi's conversation. It would have been better to give some 'chirpings' from the bird's POV, but nonetheless, you've done a really good job!
Umm...Arnav as always, thinks like a businessman. Be at work, which is necessary or at home, which is not at all necessary! His suspicions haven't gone high or low, but is still at the same level. Can't help it either, because of the misunderstandings! And until and unless something happens related to Khushi or Shyam or both, he may be lead to believe that what he saw is true!
He is basically following the motto of 'Seeing is Believing', and from his POV his judgements are what in reality would always be. But he judged too fast, I guess, and Khushi's actions were not enough or inacceptable! Bah!! Why am I bothering you with this crap! Teehee...😆
Now back to your OS, sometimes it helps a person to express, pour out their emotions, their feelings, their thoughts, and let down their inhibitions, so to feel lighter and eventually get a new strength and hope to wriggle out of the problems. Speaking to a living or inanimate object, makes no difference! For the former, some may give advice or console you and support you with words, while some will just stay silent and endure the pain 'with' you, and support you with their silence, and reassure you with their eyes, and not voice, just like the inanimate objects.
Example, Teddy Bears, soft toys, your favourite objects come in the category of inanimate objects. Kids love to speak to their soft toys when they don't have or find anyone to speak to in distress. Even elders do the same.
Everyone has to pour it out or the burden of those unspoken feelings will become unbearable and transform a very good person to something horrible. Some may turn insane or some may just give up life and breath only like zombies.
Khushi found a Bird, nursed it and and saw a Flicker of Hope, whilst speaking to the bird, which could not speak Human language (maybe couldn't even understand it), but still chirped in its melodious voice when it saw a human, who helped it, shedding tears for some unknown reason. It expresses its sympathy (or empathises with her) to her.
Even Khushi couldn't speak Bird language, but somehow the way the bird chirped when she was crying and when she smiled at it, it gave her a feeling that it may have understood or even if it didn't, she still felt lighter than she could in the previous days, after speaking to someone.
Beautiful again!!👏

Regards
Annie😳
P.S.: Hope what I said makes sense!!

I guess I should have gave some insight into the bird's thoughts. I understand what you mean... the bird plays a central role in the story and I had not given it any dialogues..😆. But thanks for mentioning where my story was lacking... it gives me the chance to improve upon in my later writings...

Yes, Arnav's suspicions are still the same. His judgements are already made and he has no plans/reasons to re-evaluate them or un-make them...

You are right... when our mind is burdened and we feel like it is too much for us handle... it helps to share our feelings with someone. Of course, if we share it with a person, we get words of consolement and advice. But we may not find such a person at all times. And times such as these we tend to talk with any animal or inanimate object around us. And just the act of talking out our deep feelings can calm us and release some of the burden in the mind. This can also help clear our mind and help us to think clearly so that we can decide what our next mode of action should be...

If we see...no one (her family or Arnav or Anjali or nani) could understand her. Yes, she couldn't be very vocal with them.. but deep within she must have hoped for atleast one of them to understand her or console her...
But instead she found a bird with whom she could share her feelings and she felt that the bird understood her based on the replies she got... and she felt comforted (something she might not have expected).

Beautiful again!!👏
Thanks...😊
