Khushi watched as the taxi left from where they were, she remained looking at that direction, her back away from Arnav. There was an awkward silence, as a result of the high tension between them. "Why?" Khushi finally whispered, "Why are you here? Didn't you say yourself that I am dirt and all I care about money? Then why are you here?"Khushi continued, trying to muster up all her courage. Arnav's insides were turning into tiny fragments as he listened to the edge in Khushi's voice. It was all his fault, he had made her like this.
"Please Khushi, please" He begged, his heart was in a frenzy, he couldn't take it anymore. Khushi could not tell whether she was dreaming, was this Arnav pleading? Tears began to form in her eyes as they travelled down her soft creamy cheek. Even though she was not facing him, it was as if her heart had turned around, facing him. She turned around to look at him, tears were strolling down his face, His eyes puffy and red as if he had been crying all day. She felt as if someone was pinching her from the inside. The atmosphere had once again become a silent one, even the crickets had stopped chirping, the foxes had stopped howling, It was as if everyone was waiting to see what the final result would be. "Forgive me Khushi, I am sorry, I am sorry I didn't trust you when you told me about Shyam, I acted like a demon, everytime I talked to you I abused you with my evil words" Khushi gasped. He knew. Khushi became numb, her phone slipped out of her hand. She felt his cold finger tips on her wrist, her eyes were now full of anger.
"Forgive you?"Khushi asked in a sarcastic tone, "You want forgiveness from a low-life like me? No money, No hope,No dignity because that is how you describe me isn't it?" Her voice was now becoming weak as her vision became blurry. "You didn't believe me! No matter how much I begged and pleaded, you never believed me!" Khushi screamed as balls of fire were streaming down her face. "Khu-" Arnav said as Khushi interrupted him. "No I don't want to hear anything! Just go away!" Yelled Khushi. "Khushi I am sorry I didn't believe you, I will make it up to you, I will do whatever you say, but please don't leave me!" Arnav cried, his throat becoming coarse from all the crying. "Arnavji, ever since the day when you forcefully married me and abused me, only one thing was helping me survive, and that thing was love!"Khushi told Arnav. His staggered backwards, She loved him? " But after yesterday, I can't live with you anymore! You treated me like a prostitute, The man I loved treated me like a prostitute! Loving you has been nothing but a burden!" She fell to the groud, unable to take the pain anymore. Arnav closed his eyes, these words pierced his soul. "No Khushi, no please! I-I love you Khushi, I always have!" Arnav yelled, he bowed down and held Khushi."You are lying! You are lying! I beg you this once please don't make a mockery out of my love, please don't give me false hope! Go away, I hate you!" She screamed punching Arnav hard in his chest. "Khushi look at me, I promise I am not lying, you are the only one who can look into my eyes and can immediately tell whether I am lying or telling the truth, Khushi please look!" he urged. Khushi didnt dare look up, she didn't want him to be telling the truth, she couldn't have her heartbroken again, she would die! Arnav held Khushi chin with his knuckles on his right right hand and made her head jerk up to look at him. He was telling the truth...
