why this public humiliation to khushi- why lalit?

Fair enough, there has been some serious misunderstanding from arnav's perspective- he has just believed what his ears have heard and his eyes have seen- shyam embracing khushi and khushi questioning him to leave anjali... so two and two he has figured out they may be having an affair.. any person for a split second .. a normal human being would misunderstood.

but why should the cvs and the director bring the twist of public humiliation? i wonder.

The story line would have been more interesting if :

Arnav had not confronted shyam

Arnav not showing his emotional self to his Di

It would have been all the more gripping.. if he had played ploy in the sense displayed his sense of affection towards khushi, tricking her to marriage with him and post rituals.. he speaking out his mind in ASR style..

So to the outside world--- khushi and his family they would have projected a perfect sweet loving couple... also giving a befitting reply to what shyam's evilness

then he could have separately handled her and then should have showed his ruthlessness
