I still cannot understand this whole concept of contract marriage. I don't think it is legally valid. You cannot get married for a fixed time period. Maybe he got her to sign divorce papers in advance. If he did, he is one superman who managed to get the legal papers ready in minutes (the time that he went missing before the varmala scene). And more importantly what sort of wedding did they have? A temple wedding? A court marriage? A court marriage is no joke. You cant married in minutes. One needs to register the names of the couple one month in advance and only then can the marriage take place.
With or without a marriage contract, if I was in Khushi's shoes I would find it hard to trust the guy. As you pointed out he has been one confusing character. One minute he is blowing hot and the other, he is blowing cold. He has never been shown to be consistent till recently and just as she got her hopes up again he quashed it ruthlessly. I am sure when realisation dawns on this man who has taken leave of his senses for now, the girl is going to walk away. He has to work really hard to prove he is worthy of her.
Loved your response Opti.
IN HIndi serial land...often the logic is missing. As you pointed out, court marriage takes a month in advance, getting any kind of papers ready for signing also takes time...and they have shown Arnav taking this decision within a matter of a couple hours or so...that too at night!
Till you pointed it out, I did not ponder over this much...what if there was no deal signed? What if it is just a verbal agreement? Seeing the varmala and sindoor, I though it was a a temple wedding.
I sure hope the creatives clarify these points.
Coming to the nice post Lady La La made...again, this is Hindi serial land...they will show her melting and forgiving him at some point in time.
I want her to actually leave after the 6 months are over.
She has been shown to take tuitions, make sweets, chikankaari saris etc...so she can work and be independent...granted that it is going to be very hard, especially if her own family disowns her!
And yes, after putting her through such a traumatic and humiliating experience, Arnav needs to work towards gaining her trust and love again.
