When he said that the ring has no value to him but was very important to her, little did he expect that the ring would mean so much to him and nothing to her. Her engagement was a necessary evil she was putting up with for the sake of her family's happiness. The same engagement is now threatening to upturn his life and pull her away permanently from him. Can he afford to lose her? Will he value his Khushi more than his ego and admit that he wants her in his life? In his effort to break her down will he break down himself?
One thing was clear from yesterday's episode. Khushi will not cow down to his ego. Her self-respect means more to her than anything else, the reason why she refused to oblige him and apologise for a mistake she felt she did not commit. She gave up her self-respect and tendered the humiliating apology (much to Arnav's shock) only for her family's sake. She can go any lengths to ensure that their feelings were not hurt. So if it is battle between his ego and her self-respect, her self-respect will win but if it a battle between her self-respect and her family's happiness (or in future his family's happiness) her self-respect will lose. We saw that he can't bear to see her lose her self-respect when he quickly rose to stop her from continuing her tearful apology. He may get momentary pleasure in bringing her down to her knees but he cannot tolerate her humiliation and pain. So in future will we see Arnav continuously being torn between his ego, his family and Khushi in whom lies his khushi?
