Arnav's ego versus Khushi's self-respect

When he said that the ring has no value to him but was very important to her, little did he expect that the ring would mean so much to him and nothing to her. Her engagement was a necessary evil she was putting up with for the sake of her family's happiness. The same engagement is now threatening to upturn his life and pull her away permanently from him. Can he afford to lose her? Will he value his Khushi more than his ego and admit that he wants her in his life? In his effort to break her down will he break down himself?

One thing was clear from yesterday's episode. Khushi will not cow down to his ego. Her self-respect means more to her than anything else, the reason why she refused to oblige him and apologise for a mistake she felt she did not commit. She gave up her self-respect and tendered the humiliating apology (much to Arnav's shock) only for her family's sake. She can go any lengths to ensure that their feelings were not hurt. So if it is battle between his ego and her self-respect, her self-respect will win but if it a battle between her self-respect and her family's happiness (or in future his family's happiness) her self-respect will lose. We saw that he can't bear to see her lose her self-respect when he quickly rose to stop her from continuing her tearful apology. He may get momentary pleasure in bringing her down to her knees but he cannot tolerate her humiliation and pain. So in future will we see Arnav continuously being torn between his ego, his family and Khushi in whom lies his khushi?

Hi Opti...I think he melted...when he saw her in tears and breaking down...He was pushing her...when he did not realize what shape she was in...He is much softer when she is vulnerable...when she fights...he fights more...😃

I think ASR's character is complex but true to its principles...so one thing that has been made clearer with time that is...

He can behave however he pleases with his Khushi but he will not tolerate ANYONE else insult, hurt, question or dishonour her.

I think in the future, we will see to sides to their relationship...one inside the walls of their bedroom and another outside. It would be reversed though...right now they have happy and intimate moments privately and harsh moments in the family's presence and after it will be the other way around...normal in front of the family but in private...

welcome to hell (bedroom) Mrs. Khushi Arnav Singh Raizada😈

Agree with this completely ... he fights only when she fights back ... when she gives in, he melts instantly.

Also agree with your point, Opti ... her self-respect is as strong as his ego ... but her regard for family and relationships is stronger than both ...

Yes, he melts when she is in tears. He cannot stand her pain. Neither can she. She melts when she sees his vulnerability. This is one thing that is common between them and may keep them bonded even when their ego/self-respect keep pulling them apart.

Wow beautifully written ! 😊 Gret post ! 👏 To tell you the truth I'm not sure what's stronger her self respect or his ego? I would have to wait and watch 😊

That's an interesting perspective. But even if he keeps inflicting pain and humiliation on her in public or private, he will not be able to stand her pain and his conscience will keep pricking him. Poor guy is going to lose what little peace he has for as much as he torments Khushi, he himself will turn into a tormented soul.

Those tears just melt his heart, as soon as she started to cry he just couldn't take it anymore and quietly gave her the ring.
