I guess I must be one of those wackadoos or gluttons for punishment because I don't think ASR and La getting engaged is earth shattering. What is the big deal if ASR and La get engaged? Aren't they already tied together in the eyes of society? They are all on the news and they announced their intentions to marry on diwali in front of a huge crowd.
I am not blown away by this. I am also not blown away by Shyam and Khushi inching closer towards marriage either. It's a bumpy road, these are bumpy characters. Nothing is cut and dry with them.
I never imagined ASR would confess his feelings, ESPECIALLY after hearing that Khushi is engaged. I suspected his knee jerk reaction to be something like this so he could show her how much Khushi doesn't mean to him - reverse psychology of sorts that does nothing except to torment her and slice his heart into more pieces. And by the looks of the SBB segment, I will need a hanky.
So, if in the end we know that ArHi will be together, what is the big deal in announcing the engagement? In actuality, Khushi's engagement to Shyam doesn't count because ASR and she already got engaged. In the similar way ASR and La engagement will not count. More tension, more complications, more self destructions - not a vamp in sight - I love it!!
I am pleased that the CVs did not go with convention and the 'popular' way out and do a confession scene. I am happy to finally see a serial that doesn't have a vamp, a saas or a don who do all the dirty work to keep the leads apart. Here the leads do it themselves - they are tripping over their pride and egos all the time. How very human and refreshing to see a battle of wills. ArHi will be together but we will have to walk on hot coals to get there. I say bring it, because I am in it to win it. (a little lottery slogan - but it'll work)
