I guess I must be one of those wackadoos or gluttons for punishment because I don't think ASR and La getting engaged is earth shattering. What is the big deal if ASR and La get engaged? Aren't they already tied together in the eyes of society? They are all on the news and they announced their intentions to marry on diwali in front of a huge crowd.

I am not blown away by this. I am also not blown away by Shyam and Khushi inching closer towards marriage either. It's a bumpy road, these are bumpy characters. Nothing is cut and dry with them.

I never imagined ASR would confess his feelings, ESPECIALLY after hearing that Khushi is engaged. I suspected his knee jerk reaction to be something like this so he could show her how much Khushi doesn't mean to him - reverse psychology of sorts that does nothing except to torment her and slice his heart into more pieces. And by the looks of the SBB segment, I will need a hanky.

So, if in the end we know that ArHi will be together, what is the big deal in announcing the engagement? In actuality, Khushi's engagement to Shyam doesn't count because ASR and she already got engaged. In the similar way ASR and La engagement will not count. More tension, more complications, more self destructions - not a vamp in sight - I love it!!

I am pleased that the CVs did not go with convention and the 'popular' way out and do a confession scene. I am happy to finally see a serial that doesn't have a vamp, a saas or a don who do all the dirty work to keep the leads apart. Here the leads do it themselves - they are tripping over their pride and egos all the time. How very human and refreshing to see a battle of wills. ArHi will be together but we will have to walk on hot coals to get there. I say bring it, because I am in it to win it. (a little lottery slogan - but it'll work)

Agree with you Anu! La- ASR engagement dos not bother me...Shyam-Khushi one I detaste... ASR -La...seriously what is the big deal...? They have been together..and any way it will never reach its destination + ASR has to agree to become a Dulha first before he can get married to Khushi...doesn't he?
EDIT
What is heartbreaking is to see the torture it puts them through everytime they move away from each other...be it as a reaction to something or as a result of circumstances...!

I guess you are kind of right, I love the last bit about how it is them who create their own troubles (mostly) because it is true, and you are right that it is refreshing.
Apart from not wanting to see weeks of dragged on wedding preparations I completely agree with you.

word!

its really cool to see a story where its more human, i mean quite honestly how often does someone with creepy bg music ruin ur life? its more like u act like an idiot and then by the time you realize it, its done and ur suffering with the consequences.

so ya, theyre getting engaged, and so what. sure its an "offical bond" but like u said, to they world they're already together, so if they want to take the long and real path to unification, all the power to them and their cosmo sized egos.

Totally agree with u Anu...V had no problem in Khushi getting engaged to Shyam then y creating a fuss for ASR-La engagement, that too when they are already in a relationship?!
We know eventually Arnav and Khushi are going to end up together, they what is need for crying in a bucket...

Yes, I too love the fact that in this serial the protagonists themselves are determining their equations. No third angle is involved! It's their ego, pride, love, hate.. which is really refreshing to watch than to see them manipulated by others.

I don't have any problem with the so-called engagement process but I somehow don't want the bangles to be worn by Lavanya. The letter and the star scene has made me quite mushy, so if they can avoid it, it will be great! 😊

I wouldn't have minded La-ASR engagement if the bangles of Arnav's mother was not in the scene. I mean few days back we were all kind of sure that things are heading towards a double marriage, and an engagement is bound to happen if story goes that way.

But after the very emotional bangle scene and the intention of Anjali to put those on La's hands in engagement itself, I don't think the engagement would be very tolerable thing. It's one thing to take the wrong decision of hasty engagement as a defense mechanism, but it would be really degrading their late mother's wish and emotions if La wears them first in engagement and then Khushi gets it after ArHi marriage.

They've turned it into a sentimental issue after bringing the bangles in the scene. And one of the reason I didn't like the fact that ASR would want to get engaged quickly is that, it was predictable that he won't confess and do this very thing. Or was in very predictable in the first place just because we've taken our time to really learn Arnav's characteristics?

I very much agree with you on the point where you say that it's themselves who are obstacles in their path of love instead of some evil minded super-sonic vamp. It's what makes all the difference in the show and makes it gripping.

I am actually looking forward to La and Arnav's engagement, for two reasons:

Sobti is gonna look extra amazing in his engagement suit, I hope they give him an Indian look, wanna see him in sherwani types and his emotions as ASR vs Arnav will be full on and I am gonna enjoy that!

Secondly, because emotions will be high so intensity will increase and both Sanaya and Barun are superb in their emotional+intense scenes so it's a treat for the viewers.

Clearly, would love to see Arnav and Khushi go through intense pain and realize something, their feelings for each other. Infact I want the marriage track to come FAST asap, because I wanna see intense scenes.

Gr8 topic Anu!!... When I saw the title I thought... OMG Anu's gone mad, but when I read your topic I realize that yes it didn't come as a shocker to any of us... La is not only his gf... but she's living in his house if that doesn't say anything about the level of closeness and Arnav and La have in the eyes of the world then nothing will.

Plus, I love the battle of the wills concept but the million dollar question is: Whose 'will' will break first?... Whose inflated ego will get a dose of deflation?... I'll bet my money its gonna be neither but the situation they'll be in...

However, seeing Arnav's a businessman and a good one too... such rash decisions from him out of fury/ anguish also show how soon his business will crumble now then this is how he's making life altering decisions!!... Hopefully something will knock some sense into him!
