Arnav goes ahead and eats the spicy and pungent dhal inspite of being warned by Khushi and also after having tasted it himself.
As Arnav ate La's Dhal instead of Khushi's, I guess we have to brace ourselves for Arnav-La engagement. The man knows he was hasty and wrong in his decision to marry La but he will never admit it. So when he comes to know that Khushi is engaged (as shown in the latest promo), he may well announce his own engagement (even if that is the last thing he wants to do). Poor La will be the scapegoat again in this ego tussle.
Khushi brings him milk to cool his system after his tryst with pungent Dhal. Arnav takes the glass and throws the milk in the pool.
Despite Arnav's desperate attempt to hide his discomfort and pain Khushi well knows how much he is punishing himself by denying his feelings for her. So she will keep trying to offer him an escape route but our stubborn hero will disregard her feelings and his own as he keeps rebuking all her overtures. The pool may be symbolic of the tears this will bring to Khushi.
There can be another interpretation to this scene. A newly wed bride offers milk to her husband on their nuptial night. The husband is supposed to share it with his wife. Now milk is one of the most balanced food. As milk has cabohydrates, proteins, fat and vitamins, it is supposed to provide energy, strength, lubrication and immunity for married life, the reason why they have this milk sharing at the start of a couple's married life. Since Arnav is shown throwing away the glass of milk Khushi offers, I think this could mean that though Arnav may get married to Khushi in haste (despite his engagement to La), he will shun her post marriage.
Arnav sends Hariprasad to get the milk for him.
This shows that Arnav knows Khushi is right but would not admit it to her. He would use the remedies she offers for the problems he faces in life but will do so clandestinely and not in front of her.
Khushi pounds away knowing Arnav is on the phone taking an important business call. He calls out to Anjali to get her to stop the noise but when Anjali comes into the kitchen she sees no one.
I thought this was symbolic of how Khushi will always be pounding at Arnav's conscience, and thoughts of her will never leave the guy no matter how hard he tries. Arnav will feel guilty for all the pain he is bringing to Khushi but will not be able to stop himself. The wake up call Khushi keeps giving his conscience will be heard only by him and no one else, not even his sister whom he is closest to.
