So repeatedly there are certain individuals coming onto this forum with only the intention of riling up members so that they can then go off and bash them using very unwitty code-names - this is neither original, nor particularly funny. People talk of bias from moderators, well if that were true then would certain rule-breaking spaces still be open? I laugh at those who cry victim when their reality is actually so clear. One rule for a select few, but the complete opposite for others. Let me make one thing perfectly clear - when you pick one individual and corner them, whilst simultaneously mocking them in a different part of India Forums, you are being a bully. This will immediately rile some people - but guess what if it does, you're in the wrong. When you name-call cruelly, you are being a bully. It's not funny and it's certainly not cool. Over fictional characters you mock the sentiments of real people.
Gauri Kumari Sharma is a fictional charactcer - if somebody makes a joke about her she will survive... she will still be DabanngRi. Shivaay Singh Oberoi is a fictional character - if somebody makes a joke about him he will survive... he will still be the Great Wall... I promise. Alternatively, Surbhi Chandna is a real person - her feeelings can be hurt. Shrenu Parikh is a real person - her feelings can be hurt. You can say what you like about the characters, but why no restraint when it comes to real people? I on the other hand am a real human being - perhaps something you have written without thinking has hurt my feelings... only I never did that to you... so why do it to me? Why call me or anyone else any name in spite? You don't know me. Ok you don't like an opinion I gave - well tell me that... maybe send a PM if the rules don't let you express yourself adequately on the forum... but like I would never curse you or call you a name, don't do that to me either. Trust me, I've seen and been told of things that do hurt feelings and I'm left thinking why? You think Anika, this girl that has always been brave, would admire the back-biting? You think the truth-loving Omkara would respect anyone who behave so duplicitously?

We all love these characters and I for one would like to aspire to their good qualities.

Note I have addressed this post to the open-minded. Please bear that in mind before replying. Report if you will, but think about what's been said.

Kashish girl, I can guess what you are talking about.

Thats why I stick to Shrenu AT, mostly, because if I step out I'll see all the hatred around.

And I think IF is still better, there is 0 restraint on Twitter and people say worse things. Though actually the people here and on Twitter are same. The things which they can't say here, they do on Twitter. 🥱

Best not to read such stuff and spoil your mood.

'Cos those folks aren't worth it. They are just cowards who are hiding behind an anonymous identity to cyber bully people. Like its been said many times, bullies are actually cowards within.

Its sad that some people can very easily blur the lines between reel and real, a fictional character and a living actor. Its okay to comment and criticize the fictitious space in a dignified matter without resorting to disrespectful means and bashing. And without being mocked at for holding the view they do.

Personally, I think it is even okay, to a certain extent, to constructively comment on the work of an actor. Mind you, ONLY their work. Not their looks or anything relating to the personal lives. However, I think it should be avoided altogether because people often become downright disgusting and mean while claiming to be providing "constructive criticism". Then a vicious cycle of bullying and insults back and forth begins.

In the same way, people should not be name calling and mocking members just because of difference of opinions just because they are faceless in the forum. Sure, some people have a thick skin. But that doesn't mean they or others don't get hurt.

I'm sorry if you've been attacked personally. I have seen a few of your posts (apart from the wonderful stories you write!) around the forum and I really admire how you put across your views in a healthy way.

Pot kettle black
I agree there is a difference between reel and real
But pls don't talk about someone else using the other part of forum to use code words when some ppl who are commenting here are /were doing that in the "other part of forum"- using code words for some threads here and some ppl who were active in that thread.

I needed to tell that.
Yes I have got to know what happened in various parts of IF but I didn't know that you didn't know ki we all know that.

Agree, ppl should stop commenting on actors' personal life and stop bashing. Yes. It needs to stop now.
Also, it holds true for all ppl.
And even for the TM so yeah.

I hope all of US understand this before pointing out.

gold star for u if you produce one screen shot where I have name-called any member of this forum or any other maliciously - I have one ready if u wish to trade. What do u know exactly? I would never do any of things u are accusing - bullying is not my cup of tea. I said open mind right and did I accuse a specific person - because u just did. Report me but don't turn this into something it's not.

This is one of the reasons I reduced my visits to the forum, because people don't distinguish the difference between reel and real.

No point hiding, anyone who was on the Rikara AT some months back knows how some Omkara fans went crazy against me and another friend (she stopped coming to IF altogether), resultant which I stopped going to Rikara AT altogether. Just sharing my experience.

Anyways, thats an old story, but much worse is happening right now. At least Om fans took to reporting and stuff, but what I'm seeing some other fans do right now: name calling, bashing, mocking, and the worst is speaking ill of actors, talking about their career and other stuff, is simply NOT DONE.

GUYS LISTEN UP, DISTINGUISH BETWEEN REAL AND REEL!!!

If you want to fight, if you want to rebel against something, then there are much better causes. Mock the government which fails us as citizens. Mock the laws which deny women equal respect and dignity in the society (laws like restitution of conjugal rights which legalizes marital rape for example). If you want to bash, then bash corrupt politicians.

Do not waste time fighting over fictional characters on IF. Neither the characters are going to be affected nor are the writers who write such nonsense.

Criticizing someone else's opinions is fine, but mocking the person and calling them names is not.

Which reminds me...

Kashish, yaar, you have made such a dignified post. 👏
I have seen hate posts and mocking comments against you, and believe me, the people who made such comments, I don't think they will understand this dignified response of yours. They are not deserving of such an intelligent response.

Anyways, all this is wasting time, I know right now a morcha will start against me also, but I'm too used to it to care 😆

True. Really like the way you put have put this to words.

I believe, that's the reason why many of us do not post what we actually feel. Posts with different opinions are always misinterpreted.

People should really understand the difference between reel characters and real people. And most of the times, whatever is posted is aimed at the improper storyline and inconsistency in the plot and not at the characters. It's not right to resort to name calling of real people for something which is fictional.

And yes, this is just a show which we watch during our free time and get connected to the characters. It just makes us happy and that is the reason why we watch. I see absolutely no necessity for attacking someone on a personal level. What can one get from it? Nothing I say.

People, please think once if it would do any good to you by doing all these. And please don't make this thread a warzone.
