Hi. I am new to this forum. Looking forward for new friends 😊

Coming to the show , I have been following it very closely since the beginning and honestly , I have never seen a character that has grown so much than shivaay. It's actually funny (not to offence) that people are more sympathetic towards anika. I am honestly in all ways sad for her and respect her sacrifices that she had made but that is who ANIKA is. Since the very beginning. Had she not done this for her husband's happiness , it would have been totally out of character for her. But for someone like shivaay Singh oberoi, who had this emotional barrier across his heart and a completely different outlook towards life , he grew so much as a person. To all those , who pinpoint that he had been too rude to her , calling her names (Daksh case) etc , we need to remember that Shivaay had always been so obnoxious since start. But from there to "meri toh jaan chali gai thi anika" shivaay was a different person altogether. And that is exactly what love does to you. It changes you. This doesn't mean he deserves a green chit for his behavior but it's human nature to react over things that matter to u. And hia obvious feelings towards her in initial days frustrated him and that caused a magnified rage.

Anika has always been the selfless and loving girl but shivaay fell in love. And fell hard. Anika has gone through too much hardships in life and knew to deal with the pain. Also , she was preparing herself emotionally for days to face the separation (doesn't mean it would hurt less but it sure wasn't a blow) but for shivaay , the woman who crawled into his skin and he loved her with everything thing he possessed purposely broke off with him by hitting him on his weakness. He wasn't prepared for it. It was a BLOW for Him. And his heart shattered and he couldn't even pick the pieces. He broke and failed to see the desperation in her eyes. Because it's shivaay. And also , when the heart aches , the brain switches off.

Three months later , when they meet again despite all the heartbreaks and pain shivaay is helplessly under control of his heart . But if he is demanding an explanation as to why he was so brutally betrayed by the one person he thought would never do so, I am totally with him. Anika's decision of not telling him is acceptable because she thinks she knows him.and doesn't want him to go through the pain. But shivaay deserves an explanation. You can't just accept him to put himself in the same scenario as before without nurturing his worst fears of being betrayed again. Yes anika forgave him after she was forcefully married to him . My perception on this is such kind of behavior (though too inhuman) is somewhere expected from shivvay. Shivaay never pretended to be anything but who he actually is. But what shivaay went through after the separation made him believe that whatever they had was all lie. And that is pretty hurtful. To judge him on his current behavior of being persistent to know the truth is very unfair. He deserves to know . So that he can pick up the pieces he left of his heart three months back. And bashing him about his decision to forcefully marry her to some other man , common ..We all.know he won't do it. He can't.

Way too sso-ish to let his ladylove marry someone else

I totally agree with each and everyone, never saw on forum such a balanced combination of words for both shivaay and anika, two most important things that you say so subtly and beautifully that shivaay was obnoxious and he was like that from day one abhi abhi aisa nahi hua achanak se and other anika does not want to tell him the truth because she knows him exactly my point she knows him yes but in this matter she's not trusting her own strength, she knows shivaay but she also knows that shivaay has always said that anika meri taqat hai and he meant what he said so anika must understand this tiny little issue that by telling him the truth which will be another big blow to him she will take care of him too, she's the only one who can because shivaay deserves to learn the truth from the one he loves. That's my rant.

I have always tried to keep away from "Shivay vs Anika" posts and I was on the verge of doing just that when I read "people are more sympathetic towards anika". Literally rolled my eyes and brought my mouse on the little 'x' on the tab until my eyes fell on " but that is who ANIKA is". And for some reason, I was curious enough to keep on reading until I found myself reading the very last line of the post.

I'm telling you all that because my hair turned white and brain got jammed reading the "who's more right than the other" and "who's more wrong than the other" posts (yeah I did read 2-3 initially ) and although your post is doing just that, I can not but admit the fact that I have never come across to a more balanced post than this ever in this forum.

If you ask me which part I agree with in your post, I'm gonna quote away everything that you wrote because your analysis on Shivay's character couldn't be more perfect than this. I guess since it is a TV show and not a story book, it is hard to analyse the characters the way it should be and to see in depth of what is attempted to be portrayed through them.

To all those who are demanding a more sensible/selfless/kind Shivay who would not put Anika into such situation and force her to marry another man to get the truth out, I will tell you what, if he had taken care of this matter more 'sensibly', been kind to Anika, I don't think he would be called THE SSO that we have always known anymore. Just like it is mentioned in this post, "Had she not done this for her husband's happiness , it would have been totally out of character for her", if shivay hadn't done what he's already doing, it would be out of HIS character.

This is Shivay singh Oberoi, THE SSO, who has always gotten his way through his 'tadi', 'stubbornness' etc, be it when Om wanted to leave the house after Tej had wanted to get him married for business purposes, when Anika wanted to leave him due to Pinky when he got shot, when he had wanted to get Ranveer eliminated from Prinku's life (how can we forget how he brutally punched that guy despite his sister's objection and had only agreed when he cooled down and prinku had made him look through the entire situation from a whole new angle), when it came to Anika's safety OR when his brothers wanted to intrude whenever there was a red signal that the Oberois are in danger and shivay had taken everything on his shoulder without letting them get a whiff of what's going on. He had ALWAYS gotten his way when it came to his family. And this time, it's about his Anika, their marriage, their life and their goddamned love, if not anything else and there's no way he can back off without getting to the bottom of this so called barrier that had shattered their life and dreams into million pieces.

We just have to accept that it is Shivay's way to get the truth out from Anika. And if we know him well, we can swear on our lives that even if he brings anika to sit beside Vikram at the mandap and gets the pandit started with his mantras, truth be out or not, at the end of the day, Shivay will be the one tying mangalsutra and putting sindur on Anika, because there's just no other way he can see her but this.

I totally agree with you that she was supposed to trust her love for him. In their relationship. But from her point of view , I would never risk the basic foundation of my husband. The key point being , I (Anika) will support him and it MAY help him recover. But the truth would SURE break him into pieces. You don't put your loved ones into death mouth no matter how much you are confident about your love. Would you push your husband infront of the tiger when you know it will ki ll him. Despite the undying love you have for him? For anikka, the news was nothing less than catastrophic disaster for him. I support her decision over their. Although it's a fact that

She didn't think that her betrayal would be equally brutal for shivaay. Nevertheless , whatever be the decision , it's shivaay's loss from both ends. Anika has been strong. Shivaay is new to the pain.

Hi.. m so glad you took out time to read the entire list and even more happy that you agree and liked it. You are so right. I am not getting why people are so hell bend to lose the essence of shivaay's character. Bowin and stepping back has never been his attribute. A guy who cried his heart out after his divorce and was ready for the meeting the next day , u expect him to place himself in the backfoot? Really? He was acting normal after a freaking heart attack and u expect him to move on without knowing the very reason of his heart shattering experience. It's actually funny

I think any selfless woman would do what Annika did for Shivaay, but she greatly underestimated his attachment and feelings for her. She became his takat, his heartbeats in a way. Yes she was trying to sacrifice what they had for his happiness but as we saw in the bhang affect, Shivaay greatly declared there was no sense in living without her. They can save each other. Jodi hai takkar ki as per Dadi. Woh zindagi kya hai isme tum nahin Annika!- as per Shivaay.

Honestly I would want Pinky to tell Shivaay the truth, in fact I would challenge her to be the one to break her son. Let him hate her if he so wishes. Annika or any wife in her place would accept him for who he is, if she truly loved him. We know in this case Annika would love him no matter if he is Pinky's son or not

Exactly. Any sensible I would say , woman would do it. She knew shivaay would sure shatter from the truth and nothing. Absolutely nothing else weighted more than this. Not even his undying love for her that time. Shivaay is only rubaru with one face of the coin and is facing this much of unbearable pain. Imagine the extent of the pain of the truth would have come out. It was anikka's fear. If the divorce broke him.this much, how much pain the truth of his legacy could have caused.

I too want stupid ponky to tell the truth. And get over with it. Damn the couple needs a break from the pain. And poor shivaay deserves the answers he is craving for.
