i know the topic name is pretty strong but let me clarify that I am a big fan of the show and have watched it since the beginning. In spite of all the tracks in the past, have still managed to stay hooked more so because of this forum and different perspectives that I get here
However, saturday's episode has disturbed me immensely. Will the writers sell their soul in the name of TRP's? Do they ever think the mindset of the audience that we are feeding. In a nutshell, no amount of education and money can really make us modern in the true sense. Things that upset me
1. Showing what people think about physically challenged people, words like munhoos etc made my blood boil. If this was said by somebody in remote India, I could still excuse this but from a mother of a police officer, it's disgusting. What were the writers thinking?
2. Words uttered by Tej, " ladki waale hai", why? Does that make them less. How does the girl feel when she hears her parents say that. Half her confidence is lost there and then.
3. It is ok to humiliate daughter in law again and again, in private, public and nobody will take a stand and dare she answer back, she will be labelled as insolent and un-sanskaari.
This is supposed to be from the family who studied in the best universities and in the name of modernity, will display skin but be so regressive in its thoughts, puts " Nayi soch" to shame.
@harneet how do you write something which I am sure you don't agree. Being a woman as well. Will you sell your creativity in the name of money?
Television is a big medium therefore at one hand Amir Khan is promoting daughters and same place we are showing the mentality of educated and rich India.
Sorry for the rant but it touched a cord so had to take it out.
