I found today's episode to be more effective overall emotionally as opposed to yesterday's (despite the fact that we got the brilliant Anika + OmRu scene yesterday).
Perhaps that's because it had a central theme to build the whole episode around...Shivaay aur Anika ka cosmic, soulful connection😆.
To start off, I loved the beginning scene for the way OmRu stood up for Anika...this premise is typical in every soap...saas sunaaoing to the bahu, blaming her for all problems and trying to throw her out...but what worked well for this scene was the way OmRu stood up for Anika...usually people just stand around like statues in such scenes...but I loved the way OmRu reacted...first Rudy's outburst, "Bhabhi hai woh meri!" and then Om's firm warning to Pinky that he won't let her do this...reiterating that Shivaay's happiness lies with Anika...
Pinky was in her typical element, ranting out of her mind, invoking all manner of things as she tends to in any charged situation...finally playing the KHOON card...that she is Shivaay ki SAGI and Bhai toh cousins hain...I felt bad for OmRu there...but this seems to be laying things out for the coming split to DBO...the trump card to separate the brothers...reminding them that despite being related by blood, they are not "sagey"...they had to back down in the face of Pinky's "mera mara muh dekhoge"...good lord🥱😆
The scene after Anika gets thrown out...lol her little monologue there...aaj dialogue yaad aa gaya Anika ko..."Aapko kuch ho jaayega toh main mar jaaungi"😆...but seriously Anika, you think Billu is SAMAJHDAAR? 😲😲🤣...why does this girl call herself bewakoof and consider Shivaay so intelligent? 😕😆...most of the time she is trolling him or mocking him but she still seems to have some self-esteem issues regressed deep inside her that come out in moments when she is feeling extra vulnerable...
I would like to believe that she wasn't calling herself bewakoof for being mad at him cuz he totally deserved that treatment after his manhandling...perhaps she was only saying that cuz she was so torn up about the state he was in and was looking for anything to blame this on...her supposed "bewakoofi" also...tum bewakoof nahin, paagal ho Anika😆
Then came the central cosmic connection part of the episode...Shivaay supposedly hears his mother declaring that she threw Anika out of his life...so his breath just stops... uski saansein ruk jaati hain😆...he struggles to breathe, his heart stops too... and on the other end, Anika who is walking away, literally stumbles, and her own breath stops, she instantly senses that something is wrong with Shivaay and turns back to run to him...
Anika manages to push past the wall of Pinky AND the doctors in an ICU😆...to rush to Shivaay's side...TALKING him back to life for the nth time😆...and lo and behold...the magical tears do their job...as soon as they fall, saansein chal padi, heartbeat bhi chal padi phir se😆...the difference this time is that Anika seems to have REALIZED the magical healing power of their tears😆...saare FBs timely fashion pe yaad aa gaye usko😆...including when Shivaay's tear healed her😆.
All the joking aside, it was a poignantly executed moment...especially for Anika's reactions as she realizes he's breathing again...the way she takes his hand and just watches him with the tears in her eyes...my fav. shot was the one where she puts her chin near his shoulder and looks up at him...something very innocent about it...and you get the sense of just how precious he is to her...SC was stupendous as always👏...despite the fact that this was yet another epi that she had to cry through non-stop *sigh*😆
Pinky ka mujhe samajh mein nahin aata😆...she clearly saw that Anika breathed her son back to life and seems to be disconcerted by it...still expecting Anika to leave Shivaay's life...after all the threats didn't work, she went the cliched pleading emotional blackmail in the end and Anika maan bhi gayi😆
Chalo maan ne se kya hota hai when Anika is incapable of staying away from him...😆...as precap shows, isko har do second lagta rehta hai that Shivaay is calling to her...😆...I liked the shot of the tear trailing down Shivaay's face as he senses Anika leave...despite all the other lulz that abound in this show, they've managed to establish a powerful soulful connection b/w these two...and today it was out in full force.
