Such a fantastic episode today...the best so far this week IMO...for once, the editing kept the flow and momentum going well.
Anika's realization truly got center-stage in this episode, far better than yesterday's episode, thus more impactful as well. The way she was attempting to process this shift inside her felt like such a tangible thing...thanks in large parts to some truly fantastic acting from SC👏
The first scene where she's walking around in daze in her room, shutting her eyes tight as if wanting to deny her own words ringing in her ears, and then in walks Shivaay calling her name in that now familiar way...yet somehow her world tilted on it's axis even further, and she panicked, pulling clothes out of the closet as an excuse for something to do, making small talk about Om, anything that would distract from the matter at hand...too bad for her, Shivaay naturally gravitates into her space😆...offering to help her with the clothes too...lol
So she tries to rush away with an excuse again...then pauses, unable to help herself from turning back and asking him if he's alright...a small reminder of the fact that they both just nearly died😆...but he proceeds to turn it back on her again, fussing about her instead...lol these two make a competition out of being protective over each other too😆
I liked the editing of the way the "pyar ki ghanti" was incorporated into a conversation as Shivaay walks over to her...the tempo increasing, the closer he got to her and poor Anika's expressions😆...the way she was getting so freaked out and not letting him touch her anywhere, lest the ghanti get more out of control😆...Billu still relentlessly trying to get her to bandage her wounds...the "chalo...kahaan? movie dekhne" bit😆
Anika is so cute about her ghanti too😆...jhat se Shivaay ko bataa bhi diya ki kaanon mein ghanti baj rahi hai...LOL@ the expression on Billu's face as he said, "ghanti?"😆...and him considering internal ear injury as a possible reason? LOLL...the way she was totally in super freak out mode by the end..."Nahin nahin nahin"...oh but it's too late to deny the obvious now, Anika😆
The best scene of the episode was definitely the Sahil-Anika scene...where they got to alternate b/w their quintessential tapori speak and share some poignant mann ki baatein too...scenes like this really hit it home how truly ALONE Anika is...she must be the first FL in any show to be this utterly isolated...every other one is given atleast a semblance of an adopted family...Anika literally has no one but her frail little brother with a big heart. ...no one to truly share her thoughts, her fears, her vulnerabilities, her joys, her sorrows with...it was all shown into sharp relief today as she struggled to accept that she has fallen in love with Shivaay...the judge and jury in her own court as she argued for all the reasons she CAN'T fall in love with him...
Such a beautifully written bit this was...the heartbreaking honesty with which Anika laid bare her vulnerabilities...the central theme was one about how WEAK love makes someone...I found this interesting because in that moment, Anika was more like Shivaay than she realizes...they both want to do anything to avoid being in a weak situation...they've built their worlds on the basis of being in control of their lives...and Anika senses her world slipping away as she opens herself up to this tremendous vulnerability. The way she explained to Sahil that he is the only one she's loved in her life and he has ended up becoming her weakness...a reminder of how that weakness was used against her not too long ago...the Anika who otherwise prides herself on being fearless enough to face anything in life, accepts the fact that loving someone makes her extremely vulnerable...the real heartbreaking bit was when she said that she is strong enough to take on anything in life...but she isn't strong enough to love another person because loving Sahil itself has opened her up to weakness in many ways.
And the way she then goes on to articulate specifically why it can't be Shivaay...a man who wants khaandaani dushman also would never deign to forge any relationship without NKK...that she realizes this stark truth is no surprise since Shivaay has hardly left any opportunity to drill it into her mind😆...oh how it's going to come back to haunt him...the way she kept saying, "Woh mujhe kabhi accept nahin kar paayenge...woh mujhse kaise pyar kar paayenge"...your heart breaks for her...and that moment where she says that even the thought of losing him for a moment shattered her so much...if she managed to actually have him in her life, it would shatter her all the more...to lose him after having gotten him would kill her...her fear of abandonment underscoring everything...I've never seen a female character be able to lay her vulnerabilities bare in such stark terms, while still being so endearing about it...there is always that undercurrent of child-like innocence in her even as she talks about harsh, practical truths...it's a fine balance and SC walks it beautifully.
A major thing I appreciated about this scene was that NONE of this was about their MARRIAGE😆...lol despite all the random TRP induced patni dharam dialogues, at the heart of it, Anika is only thinking about love on a one on one basis b/w her and Shivaay...it is not at all contingent on the technicality of them being married or what duty she feels as a wife...this was about that un-named emotion b/w them that has always been beyond the trappings of this marriage or any other drama.
LOL Sahil was so uber cute as the foil who listened as his Anika didi rambled on...offering advice at various points with the uncomplicated logic of a pure child's heart..."Just go and tell him you love him...I'll tie him up with a rope and never let him leave"😆...and him making a face as he thinks he'll now have to call Shivaay his Baaghad JEEJU😆...2 Rs. logic was being overused in this scene but it was still amusing😆...
Desperate times call for desperate measures...so Anika decides that she will stay away from Shivaay ki hawaa😆, and that will bring down her pyar ka bukhaar😆...Sahil rightly dismisses this as a flop 2 Rs. plan that ain't gonna work😆.
The second Shivaay-Anika scene in the room was hilarious too...today's epi had such a great balance of entertainment b/w the light and the emotional...LOL@ Anika determinedly staring at the curtains, babbling something about everything being white...her suit, Shivaay ka kurta, the chiffon curtains😆...she's legit acting more mad than usual and Shivaay's totally thrown for a loop...it's hilarious to watch😆...
Anika is too busy grappling with her own ghanti or she'd wonder why Shivaay INSISTS that she LOOK at him😆...he couldn't stand it for a second today that she wasn't looking at him...that bit where he was literally raising his hand like he's in a class trying to ask a question from the teacher😆...the tempo of the ghanti and it's effect on Anika is hilarious😆...Shivaay utterly confused, wondering if she has a bukhaar😆...what a cliffhanger end by Sahil...lol guess he'll make an excuse tomorrow...hilarious how Billu's mind isn't even remotely working in that direction despite the OBVIOUS flirting he does with his biwi😆.
Precap seems like Anika's hyperactive imagination😆...I suppose she will have to cope with more of this as the bells ring louder😆
