Actually this goes straight to his characterisation as the Great Wall of Shivay. When Rudra and/or Omkara are in trouble, he just moves them out of harms way and does what he does. On Raksha Bandhan, he didn't explain why he disappeared and managed to enrage the whole family, all the while all he was doing was protecting Omkara, who only found out the truth by accident.

Also his interactions with Aanika today were about her ignoring him than him being unable to say anything. He comes up to her each time, ready to say something and she walks away. It was all painfully slowed down, but the whole point was that she already wasn't giving him the time of day. Even when he walked to the pool and he demanded she leave, she pointedly ignored him. So I imagine him trying to explain anything to her would have been a waste of time, and he knows it.

My guess is that not telling her the truth is his way of protecting her, like he does with OmRu. He doesn't want to hurt her feelings about Daksh. At this moment, he doesn't how she really feels about him because she threw him a curve ball yesterday by agreeing to Daksh's proposal and for all he knows, she does like him and certainly enough to get married. It was easier to get her out of harm's way than it is to talk to her right now. Talking to her would require her to listen as well, and since she has blocked herself from the Oberois, in general, and Shivay, specifically, would she have been willing to listen?

Plus, if s/he confronted Daksh, and he blatantly denied saying any of those things, then there would be even more problems. I imagine if he hadn't seen Aanika in Daksh's room tomorrow, he would have told her much like he handled the Chhabras. He confirmed everything and had the evidence to back up his claim before he confronted them in front of the family.

As for whether he should have thrown Daksh out, then he would have had to explain why, not just to Aanika but to the rest of the family as well, which could get very messy. Tomorrow, whether he goes to Daksh's room to see whether Daksh won or not, or it was an accident that he passed them by, remains to be seen. So I am withholding judgement.

It would be so quick to judge Shivaay's character here if I say why is he not making any effort to tell Annika about Daksh's real intentions just like Annika has been doing to expose Tia so far. I should wait for 2-3 episodes to see whether Shivaay will be able to build up this courage or not.
I still have not the answer of this question: How this marriage will happen? When the MUs are so weird and they both think so low of each other. I don't know where it's leading. I just Shivaay's MUs to be cleared before wedding. Only then the wedding would make sense and we have only this option: Daksh should be exposed before Shivaay to make this marriage happen.
