It was such an emotional episode for me. TO watch Shivika look at each other with their hearts in their eyes. One who is dazed and in shock over the sudden announcement of the wedding and the other that he is getting into a loveless marriage for the sake of his family. Both feeling helpless and unable to express what they are feeling for each other. One lashing out at the other masking his hurt and pain in a volley of HATEFUL words, calling her trash, low class, unfit for someone like him. Her feelings for him are too new, the concern and the attachment that has grown between them is overshadowed by his cold announcement of his wedding to her. She has also been rudely reminded of her ORIGINS and lack of LINEAGE. Being who she is, Anika has taken it in stride and not confronting him. they had after all made a pact to forget what they said to each other the night of the party. It was just an aberration, to be forgotten and dismissed, put out of their minds as nothing can ever come of the confessions to each other, in the cold light of day.
Shivaay has been harangued by his brothers over Anika and he lashed out at them partly as they failed to see what he was doing for them all. He was putting the family first instead of his own needs. He wanted Omru to understand him and the scene in the kitchen..where Rudra hugged him was so..aawww. He was almost in tears and wanted the support of Omru as he was going to be in a loveless union with Tia. He realized that he was losing Anika. The call to her...in her room...'Anika' was a desperate plea, a mantra that he had to say just once more... to say to her in so many words, to understand why he made the decision to marry Tia. To explain himself, to her one last time as she had understood when no one ever had, aside from his brothers, where he was the BIG STRONG OEBROI, who was always there..as his absence could have cost him Om. Anika had always understood him and that was what was driving him to utter those harsh words about her. He had to justify to himself more than to Omru why he was choosing Tia over her.
I may be going out on a limb here but Anika heard him say those things about her and she knows that she never was his equal in terms of class or money. When he said Class', it meant those words she uses all the time... the slang that is spoken by the low class and not so educated masses. She is not poised like Tia or speaks fluent English like himself and the rest of the Oberoi's. Sometimes people live in areas (due to circumstances) surrounded by those who are neither highly educated nor polished, absorb the words unconsciously and some habits and behavior. Despite her surroundings she has maintained her dignity and aplomb.
Anika was in a somber mood and in shock over the wedding. She did not reprimand him and affected indifference to his taunts. These words were a repetition of his earlier ones and do not think they would have caused her more grief this time. Her silence was more due to his wedding, that he would no longer be approachable and their playful banters at an end as were their sparring over matters small and big. She knows she is not sophisticated like Tia and the warmth that enveloped her when she was at the Oberoi's is over. The welcoming hug of the family that held her is going to be snatched away. She said it as much... that she knew he was marrying Tia for the Right Reasons', saving his family from more embarrassment and mockery that was being made. She gently reminded him to ponder over his decision as he is not one to make it lightly. He did ask her why their problems should affect her..he was testing her...if the money or name... had anything to do with it. The decision to dump Tia will be so much easier as she is in it for...fame and money what else.

Loved the way he was looking at her and when she was doing her job...by displaying his clothes to him, I went all misty eyed..her pain was so visible. I was surreptitiously wiping my eye while watching the video at work... during my lunch break...both of them in that scene just blew me away ...his stiff body language and her...silence and eyes that spoke volumes. Hurt, shock, betrayal, acceptance of what is to come, dreams broken... once again. He was daring her to say anything, something over his wedding by looking at her so intently. She was not one to give in to his ego and arrogance and defied him yet again. He does not know which attracts him more towards her, her outlook and beauty or the fact that his money and name does not instil awe, fear and reverence and...kowtowing to him... his absolute authority. She looked back at him with hope in her eyes but his arrogance won again.. and she sadly turned away...as there was nothing she could say or do..to make him change his mind.
Her confusion at her reaction to the impending marriage was also a revelation to him. The scene in the kitchen, when she says to Soumya, helplessly..what do I say, what do I do, what am I going to do, what am I going to wear, I do not know. Such simple words that impact Shivaay so much that he almost breaks down when his brothers give him the cold and silent treatment. His relief at their acceptance of his choice was so evident. He always covers up his concern for her by treating her harshly or feigning indifference (when she stubs her toe) by saying who will complete all the work for his wedding. He is tying to convince himself that her presence or absence does not matter to him one bit. He has revealed too much of himself by uttering the words Family', what will happen to me if you are unwell' and he covered up by... saying who will do the work... ditto for Ganpati visarjan or when Mallika was allowed to stay back with the Oberoi's to her reunion with the Ranas. His statements that I was going to do just that... the exact same thing... is like a kid whose candy has been taken away.
The scene with dadi too was beautiful. Dad senses the ishqbaaz between her beloved Billu and
Anika who she loves. She approves of her as her grandson's bahu. When she said that the family must support her Billu for his happiness and added the words that there will be takkar... is an indication of things to come between Shivika. There will be intense love and verbal sparring and understanding, a match of equals much as he may deny it now. It is going to be filled with drama and suspense for the next few days.
Rudy was too good when he gave the emotional hug to his bade bhaiya...and the way he was overacting over the news of lady baba coming to stay...had a good laugh, was a cute scene with Soumya. Rid and Soumya...asking the dulha about the dress his bride is going to wear...
On an aside...Tej and Shakti are off to VaishnoDevi. Will they be back before the wedding ... no mention of the dads for the Grand Wedding of Shitia. could not resist this one hehehe...
