It is western philosophy that attributes Maya and Illusion as one and the same. It is not Wealth as the Westerners claim. Maya has a deeper meaning to it just like Dharma doesn't mean religion.

Maya is the 'kshanbhangurita" or that which will be destroyed in seconds. Mahadev has no beginning or end, so does Aadi-Shakti, they were there when time wasn't in existence and they will be there when time ceases to exist.
