Anika was happy. She was very happy. Her little brother was coming to her. It was the weekend and since only few days were left for Shivaay's wedding, Dadi has pestered her to stay for the weekend at Oberoi Mansion. Ofcourse Shivaay had thrown a tantrum at this but Dadi had the final say. At first, she was sceptical. She had never lived a day without seeing Saahil and she didn't want to either. So when in such a dilemma, Dadi had asked her to bring her little brother to the Oberoi Mansion too.. The prospect of bringing her kid brother to stay with her in the Oberoi Mansion made her happy. So on Friday evening, she took a few hours off from the wedding planning and hopped off to Saahil's school. Dadi had persuaded her to take the car but she didn't want to. She could very well come in an auto. But no.. Dadi was firm and so off she went in the car. She could hear Shivaay's tantrums and sighed, "Baghad Billa will never change." First she would go to her house and then to Saahil's school.
Meanwhile, Rudra was searching for Anika. Over the past few days, he had grown attached to her and spent much time with her. In his vision, she was the perfect example of a mother. Since childhood, he was never showered upon with mother's love. His mother loved him but she mostly wouldn't talk to anyone. Now he knew why she didn't. She was always fighting with his father. But then love was always showered to him in a silver platter by his two brothers - Shivaay the most. He was all but a father to him, loving and protecting him in every possible way. And now Anika Di. Sweet, funny and caring. He loved her very much. And now she was missing. He had searched the entire house and came to the living room where Dadi was sitting reading a list. Shivaay's wedding list.
Rudra : Dadi !!
Dadi : Haan Rudra. Kya hua ?
Rudra : Anika Di kaha hai ?
Dadi : Anika ?? Kyu ?
Rudra : Bass aise hii dhund raha tha. Kahi dikhi nahi mujhe.
Dadi : Vo apni ghar gayi hai kapde lene keliye.
Rudra : Kaapde ?? Kyu ?
Dadi : Shivaay ki shaadi keliye abhi thode din hii bache hua hai. Isliye meine kaha weekend ko humaari ghar pe rahe.
Rudra's face broke into a wide smile. Anika Di was going to be here for two days. This was great news. Now he could spend more time with Anika Di.
Dadi : Haan.. Vo ghar se aate vakt apne Bhai ko bhi leke aayegi.
The smile swept off from Rudra's face and replaced with a frown. Bhai ??
Rudra : Bhai ?
Dadi : Haan Bhai. Uska ek chota Bhai hai. Anika boli kii vo apne bhai ke bina nahi reh sakti. Isliye meine bola kii usko bhi saath rakhle.
Rudra's eyes blacked for a moment. Anika Di had a younger brother. If she was so caring and sweet to Rudra himself, then how caring and sweet she must be with her younger brother.. He felt a pang on his chest. But he shrugged it off..
After sometime, the car arrived and Anika got down from it. She helped Saahil get down from the car.
Saahil : Wow Di. Baaghad Bill aka ghar bohot bada hai.
Anika : Haan. Tumhe pata hai. Mei bohot baar iss ghar me kho gayi hu.
Saahil : Haahahaha..
Anika : Ab chal.. Sambhaalke..
She helped him into the house and into the living room. Dadi was sitting there. Anika pointed towards Dadi to Saahil and asked him to do Namaste. Saahil did, "Namaste Dadi." Dadi smiled kindly at him..
Dadi : Kitna pyaara bacha hai ye. Jeete raho beta.
Priyanka came down and took Saahil into a tight hug. Anika smiled and Saahil as struggling due to suffocation. She let him go atlast and kissed him on the cheek. By that time, Rudra had come down.
Priyanka : I am so happy Saahil ki tum aaye ho. Ab hum khoob saare games khelenge aur masti karenge
Saahil : Thanku Priyanka Di. But mei yaha Anika Di ke saath time spend karne aaya hu. Aadha time tho busy rehti hai. Aur jab ghar aati hai tho so jaati hai. Iss weekend me sirf mei aur Anika Di.
Priyanka : Hawww !! Kya mei allowed nahi hu ?
Saahil : Aap bhi hummare games me allowed hai. Hum bohot saare masti karenge jaise hum pehle karte the roj. Haina Anika Di ?
Anika : Pakka Saahil. Aur kal Saturaday haina. Aaj raat masti karenge.
Saahil : Pinky Promise ??
Anika : Pinky Promise..
They did the pinky promise signature and hugged each other. Everybody awed at this sight except for one. He was feeling left out. He wanted to be like that. He wanted Anika's time. He wanted Anika to be with him. When he heard about Anika staying for the weekend, he was happy. Happy that atlast, he would have some time with her.. Now, looking at the sister-brother duo pinky promising each other, he felt a surge of jealousy pass through him. He knew he shouldn't feel like it but he couldn't help it. That night, after everyone had dinner both Anika and Saahil had their dinner. Both fed each other and went to bed. In the middle of the night, while they were half way through playing, Saahil's stomach grumbled.
Anika : Kya hua Saahil ?
Saahil : Mujhe bhook lag rahi hai Anika Di.
Anika : Hmmm.. Tho kya chahye mere Saahil ko ?
Saahil : Jaise aapko pata nahi..
Anika : Mujhe nahi pata.. Hmmm... Maybe gajar ka halwa ??
Saahil : Haan Di. Gajar ka halwa.
Anika : Tho chalo..
Both went into the kitchen. Anika seated Saahil on the marble shelf and started taking the ingredients needed for gajar ka halwa. Both were talking and teasing each other with Anika imitating Shivaay and Saahil telling her stories of his crush and love. Admist all this, none of them noticed a shadow vanishing into the darkness. Rudra couldn't sleep. So he had come to get water. What he saw made his heart clench. Anika Di and her brother talking and teasing each other while she made halwa. Oh how he wished he was the one in Saahil's place. The green monster of jealousy was getting on his nerves and he left the place.
As Anika had prepared the halwa, she took some of it and kept it aside. Saahil noticed this and asked.
Saahil : Anika Di. Ye kiskeliye ?
Anika : Ye uskeliye hai jo mere liye bilkul tumhaari tarah hai.
Saahil : Matlab ?
Anika : Ye Rudra keliye hai. Vo mere liye ek chota bhai aur beta se kam nahi hai.
Saahil : Bohot pyaar karte ho usse aap ?
Anika : Dher saara. Use gajar ka halwa bohot pasand hai. Aur meine use promise ki thi ki jab mei gajar ka halwa banaaungi tab pehli spoon use hii khilaaungi. Aur ab vo promise mei pura kar rahi hu.
After setting the cup aside, she fed Saahil a spoon of halwa and he did the same. They had fun in eating the halwa and soon Saahil felt sleepy. Anika put Saahil to sleep and took the cup to Rudra's room. She would wake him up and surprise him with halwa. But he was nowhere to be found. She heard noise from the washroom. So she took a paper and a pen.. She wrote a note, kept the halwa top of it and retired to her room. As Rudra came out of the washroom, he noticed a cup on his bedside table. He picked it up and saw that it was gajar ka halwa. He saw the note and picked it up.. It read..
To my shaitan chotu and my partner-in-crime, the first spoon of my gajar ka halwa..
Rudra's eyes filled with tears. She remembered. Anika Di remembered her promise. And here he was, jealous of her younger brother. Eventhough Saahil was there, she kept the first spoon of halwa for him. Tears brimmed in his eyes but he had a smile on his face. His Anika Di loved him... And he loved her even more. Jealousy had no place anymore..
