I loved the scene when Shivaaye was in the hospital and Tej entered, Om just started stating the condition of Shivaaye to him, however the scene would have proceeded later, that moment it seemed to me like he was expecting an assurance from Tej that Shivaaye would be fine.

However hard he might try to conceal, he does feel the lack of a fatherly figure in his life, his deep hatred for Tej is actually based on true love that he has for Tej- At least I felt so

Yes I too thought he wants assurance from his father in that scene but it can be a weak point also in that situations we ask assurances from strangers too
