EXCLUSIVE: Rrahul Sudhir has emerged as one of the most loved actors of the year with his performance in Ishq Main Marjawan 2. We caught up with him for a candid chat
With his good looks, deep baritone and powerful presence, Vansh Raisinghania is one of the most loved characters on TV. Actor Rrahul Sudhir has amassed a huge fan following amongst females with his charisma and powerful histrionics. BollywoodLife caught up with Rrahul Sudhir for a chat. Talking about his new found fame, he said, "I think it is great. Isn't this what you wanted in life? To be a little famous. Now, when your work is being spoken about it is more sublime. It is not as outrageous as I thought it would be." He plays the role of a menacing businessman, Vansh.
Talking about his role, Rrahul said, "I knew what I wanted to do in terms of work. Vansh seemed excited enough. I honestly do not know what works on TV. But there are some smart people in the industry who know it. I felt a sense of excitement on reading the script. You do not get such characters often on TV. The medium has strong stereotypes. When I got Vansh's character, I wanted to perform with all my passion."
Fans are gaga over his chemistry with Helly Shah. Their romantic scenes have hit the bullseye. Rrahul Sudhir tells us, "The success of any romantic scene lies in the comfort factor. Helly and I joke around 24x7. I feel that transpires onscreen. So, whether we love or hate on screen it comes with a certain level of fluidity. I do not know the secrets of 'Aag Lagana' on screen. At times, we improvise a little, and it works wonders. Then, we feel humnein kamaal kar diya. As long as people are liking it, I do not dissect much about my yogdaan and so on."
The handsome man says that he is learning daily from Helly Shah and Vishal Vashishtha. "Working with Helly is like a masterclass. At times, I am so in awe of what they are doing when I suddenly realise that even I am in the scene and need to perform now. Both of them know their strengths and what they're capable of. Both of them are very friendly. If I want a suggestion, I ask Vishal. Helly also gives me tips. But she is a kid. People feel that she has 10 years experience but she is a baby at heart," he states.
Rrahul Sudhir's first show on TV, Rajaa Beta, did not do well. It shut shop pretty fast. Was it very disappointing? "A whole team works on a show. It is a collective sense of disappointment. For me, every show is a like baby. You love all your kids equally. In fact, there is more love for a child who is little weaker," he says.
He is known for his work on the web show, Twisted 2. The OTT platform has changed the scene for actors in India. Rrahul says, "Isn't it brilliant? You get to do what you want. It has created an equal ground for talent in India. So, many great actors are coming out of the web space. Earlier, you did not get to see their talent closely in films. Today, actors and writers have so many chances."
