IKRS Tuesday 24th May 2016 ep 257 My Take ~ The end incited new beginning
It's a sorry state of affairs when a marriage begins to rock. Worse still when the idea of ending it crops up, it's meant to be a traumatic ordeal for two individuals, and children too if involved, have to jump through the hoops of instability and emotional stress and displacement . To avoid these the sanctity of marriage is impressed at all times. Hence within the world order the union is considered holy plus a legally bound relationship between two individuals. That it does not lose its purity , both faith and law discourage divorce or separation. The legal system puts up various requirements which have to be proved first to tender separation or qualify for divorce procedure. Common factors like extra marital affair , the proof of adultery are seen by many legal systems as a ground for divorce. Within the episode to separate from his wife on the basis of family loyalty looms up as shoddy and reckless! making a mockery of the holy union of matrimony.However marriage hinges on the virtue of trust between two individuals and if the hasty decision which should have been on mutual consent, to live separately has been brought about by Viplav, incited by his family , then that in itself has to be taken as a fresh start, in recognising the mettle of true love between Viplav and Dhani.
The end incited new beginning, Viplav , visually sighted, yet blinded with familial love , he hates her , the sight of her disgusts him , Dhani hears her Viplav growl ,as he grabs her arm just above her wrist , drags her down the stairs of Maata rani's temple. Dashrant from above watches with complacency from the temple courtyard, that which he wanted !comes true eventually. Dhani pleads he has to listen to her! at least once hear her out, but he resists ,there is nothing left to hear !she is at fault! The day of veneration she was out of order! now she grabbed dada ji by the collar! Dhani pleads at least listen to why she didn't apologize to dadaji ,but he is furious, no he doesn't want to find out the truth! he has seen all the truth he needs to see! she leaves him no choice, here he tries to fix things and she goes around acting out of turn !creating more problems for him! she can't imagine the reverence he has in his heart for dad ji, it's even more than his own father! But she can't grasp that! what's more his whole family told him he was making a mistake!but he ignored whatever they said! loved her blindly! trusted her blindly!but what he saw with his own eyes today, how can he ignore that?what did she say? his grandfather doesn't deserve an apology from her? it's her who doesn't deserve to apologize to his dada ji!and what's more they don't deserve each other too! he thought love makes things right and fair! He was duped!as today she has shown him that she never accepted his family! He has lost not.. their relationship is off now, ended! Dhani screams, Viplav! does he realize what he's saying! Distantly he tells her not to take his name, and as of now their relationship has ended.. he loves and respects his family a lot, if she cannot stay with them.. then.. maybe they weren't destined to be..it's a strange irony..this is the very temple where they got married and today standing here he feels getting married was the biggest mistake of his life, confesses Viplav as Dhani simply stands stupefied by his words.. he looks at her briefly hardens his face and grabs her by the hand takes her past the back of the jeep, stands her by the passenger seat! Dhani refuses to get in. but does in the end...there is no point in talking to him now ,she's past talking and he past listening .. Himself he jumps into the drivers seat and in stern silence heads for the ashram! The scene built up a lot of resentment in me for the character of Viplav ,saw him as an educated lawyer brought down by inner turmoil, reverence to Dashrant . Educated in the inner city only he spoke.His spouse stood before him already condemned. Such a pity ,she harped on that she wished to speak to him. He took that right from her, instead lumbered upon her ,an insane , knee jerk reaction calling their marriage off! he made it known to her .That he has made his choice between her, and his family. His family for him comes in first well before her! in actual fact he gives credence to what he saw and heard ,Dhani assaulting his dada ji. But Viplav completely brushes aside that which she saw and heard..such cruelty , he disallowed her to speak about it! all in all Viplav conducted a trail and gave a sentence upon Dhani without allowing her the right to any form of defence. Dhani invokes sympathy , and certain admiration for her as she refuses to seek pardon for her behaviour from a sanctimonious hypocrite and a thief. Also does this tirade make it easier for Viplav to drop Dhani to the ashram? as decreed by his dada ji...
Dhani's sad journey in her angry beloved husband's jeep begins from maata's temple and with a screech of brakes ends right in front of the ashram. none spoke , nothing to be said ,nothing to be heard, only the end. Dhani cries silent tears as she looks at his stern profile. Viplav still in spite of all this drama is a gentleman. Gets out of the jeep and offers her his palm... is this the hand which vowed to support her in thick and thin high and love, in doubts and truths? anticipating Dhani places her hand in his palm.. no Dhani it's the palm that supports her to get out of his life.."the colour of his Ishq is doubting her, the colour of his Ishq is colour is blind, ignorant, illiterate ! not him but the whole world cries, the colour of his love is making a big mistake.. his Ishq is being lost in the sea of duplicity, guile, masquerade! he loses her and himself.. " Dhani suddenly is jerked back.. he stops me! but no its not him, its her sari caught in the bumper of jeep! She looks at his eyes they water too.."he's not impressed by the colour of her Ishq ..the colour of Ishq is parting ways"..viplav moves to free her sari and her.. she too bends her fingers to free her sari and both their fingers meet but.."the colour of their Ishq is parting.. Ishq is farewell"one last look of appeal from Dhani but, "the colour of his Ishq is only parting ways.." Dhani says her final words to him before he leaves, Viplav our relationship was based on trust!and today he severs that bond, but one day he will realize her innocence.. Dhani waits as he lurches into his jeep.. but Viplav drives off without remorse ,cold distant as one who is a stranger! and not her Viplav , her husband.
So back to square one! Dhani's knees give way and she sinks right before the ashram door .. it opens and her friend, her family pours out ,gathers a devastated Dhani ..Dhani is served food but she refuses to eat ,as she wonders if Viplav had ate his food.. and puts it aside..
.. Upon asking, Dhani reveals before inderani that Dashrant and Kanak never really accepted her as their daughter in law it was all a hoax. Dhani defends Viplav when inderani shows utter disappointment in Viplav's behaviour..dhani explains he knows nothing, in fact he is not even aware of the fact that its his dada ji who is separating them..she says , dada ji is deceiving every one, he never accepted her as Viplav's wife! in fact maaji and dadaji are in it together , they both have their own ulterior motives! she couldn't dream of such things but she has seen it with her own eyes and heard it with her ears.. what's more Viplav will never believe it!Dashrant plans to make the temple for widows empowerment but in actual fact thinks of widows as prostitutes! Dhani then reveals to her family, that which she was desperate to reveal to her in laws but they didn't hear her out, the three things that she now knows about them ,Tripurari, Kanak killed Viplav's father; that Tripurari is Dashrant's illegitimate son; lastly that Dashrant stole two sacks of tola daan donations! Inderani supports Dhani and understands she faces a dilemma.. suggests Dhani return home ,she can't let their conspiracy win! But Dhani digs her heels in and sticks to her guns,she will not return as no way will she apologize to Dashrant whom she knows is a cheat and a liar with a mask on his face! and because of that Viplav will not forgive her!besides she wouldn't want him to chose between her and his family , cries Dhani!
He may have so to speak, left her! but his memories with her, follow him right away!and this is just the beginning.."distance makes the heart grow fonder" Viplav begins to realize as suddenly he brakes by a couple enjoying ice cream in the park.. didn't take him long to conjure up the memory of him and Dhani sharing a butterscotch cone..
Viplav reaches his home ,walks in sees his mother and dadi ji as normal as ever.. everything seemed in place ,nothing was amiss.. still Viplav felt a vacuum in the left side of his thorax..how can he breath when his heart was not behind his rib cage? Like a complete hypocrite his dada ji now chides him, for his rage at the temple, after which the deceitful man asks innocently , where's their younger daughter in law? Kanak adds tell us, its worrying them. Viplav coldly replies he dropped her at the ashram.. this one line from Viplav gives joy to the four demons residing in AN.. Dashrant , Kanak, Bua , Kamini! Dashrant plays his devil's ambassadorial role and adds he tired to resolve matters.. hope Viplav doesn't think he is to blame for this situation.. Viplav under his dada ji spell says , no not at all.. he's nurtured him since childhood ,he cannot suspect him..dada pota hug.. and Dashrant says good lad ,good lad .. whose happiness this biased old man didn't give a toss about! always emotionally blackmailed him woe be upon this Machiavellian pandit only into making money in his trade! His family watches the embrace , rejoicing that all is well between these two thirpathi's..little do they know Viplav harbours a festering wound.. his mother too adds her two cents worth of deceit , she understands it hard for him , but whatever happens its for the best.. they knew all along the truth about Dhani, it was him, he was blinded and couldn't see reality ..sorrowful day indeed for Viplav he is the sighted blind.. cannot differentiate who is for him and who against..blindly he trusts the wrong lot! a pack of lying cheats! Viplav stands with hooded tearful eyes..kanak as his mother says, he must be tired and hungry , coaxes him to eat but almost lifeless he replies, Dhani too probably hasn't eaten either.. and he turns and heads for his room ..Kanak calls after him, how does he know? and heartbroken he replies in a broken voice , he just does ... wicked Dashrant smiles at seeing his own blood fret.. as long as its good riddance to that widow Dhani!
Great celebration in Kamini's room as both the old and young witch spin around in joy . Kamini is ecstatic the thorn in her flesh Dhani has gone now nothing in the way from making Viplav hers.. Bua pampers her,she is the right match for Viplav and she surely will become Viplav's bride !but till he doesn't expel Dhani from his heart , Kamini should carry on with her angling and she as her Bua will help her.. Bua does wonder though, how quickly things happened.. Kamini keeps silent while Bua says that Dhani seemed to have lost the plot ,all that rubbish Dhani spoke about .. did she tell her anything ? Kamini says no she didn't ,but is alert as she learns that Bua too does not know about some dark secrets..
Its night time ..time for bed he opens their wardrobe.. she used to give him his night clothes.. he grabs some and tosses them behind on their bed.. her sari s hung from hangers..he takes one off and presses it against his body.. Dhani calls out ,he s not what you think him to be!he is a very cheap man! He recalls Dhani screaming up at him in the mandir accusing and cussing his dadaji Viplav hangs her sari right back..but her memories are there in this room to sustain him.. god he misses her! Dhani sobs.
Thought I couldn't bear to watch it..but then I did.. vented off a bit.. this is a Mishal episode.. what a fine star he is ,so discipined in what he gives..yes there where many scenes like the jeep scene from Laagi..it was the same shot of Mishal's profile in the driver seat.. but Mishal was playing Viplav here not Dutta.. Viplav lacked the steely coldness of Dutta's profile.. Viplav was miffed ,distant,but still had a warmth about him.. that's Mishal he ensures he's not rendering a repeat persona.. he could have easily repeated some gesture, some look but he dosen't if not required.. Viplav is not a don.. and Mishal ensures he never mixes the two.. thanks Mishal.. for following your gut instinct and not the trps.. I will watch Ishq as long as it goes.. after all its given me a fine budding star ,young Eisha... stay tuned.. folks.. the love story has just began.. hamlet53 ~25.5.16
