Here's an old question and answer session of Gurmeet during his Ramayan days! I just love his answers.

'Ram is the ideal man'

Q. How did you bag the role of Ram in Ramayan?

A.The Sagars offered me the role after they saw me in Mayavi on Jaya TV. They had auditioned several actors but were not satisfied with the result. But when they saw me in Mayavi they asked me to give an audition. I am lucky that I got selected to play Ram because I am a staunch Ram devotee and it's a dream-come-true for me.

Q. How did you bag the lead role in Mayavi?

A. I was a stage actor and have done theatre for two years in Jabalpur before I got to play the lead role in Mayavi which I had to quit when I was selected to play Ram. I didn't think twice before accepting the role.

Q. How did you prepare yourself?

A. I had several meetings with the channel's programming team and the Sagars. Anand Sagar who was involved in the making of Ramayan for DD is also part of this project. He made me understand the character and his mannerisms. It took me almost a month to prepare for the role.

Q. Don't you see the danger of getting typecast in mythological shows?

A. The days of typecasting are over. Arun Govil lived with the image of Ram for a long time because in those days there was only one channel. Today there are many channels and many shows. A good actor can easily come out of any image.

Q. Does the character give you scope to prove your versatility?

A. Yes, it does. Ram is called Maryada Purushotam. He was not only an ideal man and King but also a warrior. The range of the character is huge and has many shades.

Lord Ram walks for the first time!

Starting Monday last, India's greatest epic is back on your television sets. For the first time ever, viewers will get a glimpse of Lord Ram's childhood on this new series of 'Ramayan' only on NDTV Imagine. The new show will be aired at 9.30 pm every Monday to Thursday.

According to reports from Baroda, where the production of this epic masterpiece is being executed, the toddler playing the character of Ram is quite a star! The shoot was stalled for almost three days because the makers of the show, Sagar Arts, wanted to actually capture the first walk of little Ram! They waited in anticipation for three whole days and finally got the perfect shot, when he walked for the first time not just on reel life, but in real life too!

So don't miss this heartwarming episode of 'Ramayan' at 9:30 pm on NDTV Imagine!

The duo then are at a bridge on stage.. n GC recites.. the Jab Tak Hai Jaan poem..!

They dance on Jab Tak hai jaan..! They are sitting on a carriage.. KS backhugs GC..! They hold hands.. eyelocks..! 😳 KS rests her head on GCs chest..!

They finally fly a KANDEEL up in the air..!

The again perform on ISHAQZADE ..!

GC lifts KS turns her around.. lifts her...! He then lifts her n turns her around..! Her hand on his waist for support..! He keeps turning her in his arms..! They end the act with a pose of back hug!
