Now Emon roots for AMIT!

It was a tearful and emotional exit for Indian Idol contestant Emon Chatterjee when he failed to make it to the top two positions.

His departure from the hit show came as a blow for his thousands of fans back home in Kolkata and across the country.

Emon's departure came as a surprise of many as was being considered one of the most competent among the last three contestants.

His innate performances had touched all and sundry be it the judges and the compere Mini Mathur who broke into tears and appeared more hurt with his unexpected departure.

However, the Bengali lad took the decision of the public in his stride and repeated his scintillating performance singing Tadap Tadap Ke from the movie 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' throwing the atmosphere into more sadness.

And now with Prashant Tamang and Amit Paul left vying for the title clash, it is deemed that the grand finale would be a memorable event.

Emon has also termed the versatile Amit as the next Indian Idol;

however, it would not be a surprise if sepoy Prashant overcomes his 'dark horse' image making it to the hot seat.

But ultimately it will be the SMSes of fans that will largely decide the next Indian Idol.
