It's regionalism that gets II the votes that they get. If II was about all parts of India waking up to find its singing Gandhi, don't you think II would earn like 1,000 millions of votes? If it was not about regionalism, do you think people from Assam who live their lives in fear would bother about who becomes Indian Idol? If it was not for regionalism, you think those Nepali speaking minorities who are treated like barbarians would bother who become the next Abhijeet Sawant? It's regionalism that gets the shows like II and SRGMP going. That's the reason why such contests promote regionalism so heavily..

Well noones saying that thr isn't regionalism...but u do realize the extent to which this has gone, dont u? HOW MANY TIMES has this dude come in the bottom 4 or wotever? Even if Amit Paul or the other contestants are getting regional votes...they still manage to come in the bottom once a while...unlike Mr. Oh-im-gonna-get-votes-even-if-i-jus-hold-the-mic-and-stand!

If Prashant getting too much vote is shocking then why dont all of you guys who whines vote against him. I hear everybody ranting prashant is bad , prashant is bad and so on. If many people agree with your decision then he would have been out a long time ago.

The fact is Prashant is liked by many people thats why he is getting the highest vote. Accept the fact.

It's hardly Prashant's fault, if people from his region have put heart and soul to make him win. If you like other singers then vote for them. If regionalism is not favoring your favorites, buckle up! Do something about it. Wake up and smell the coffee. Don't question others choices. It's their money and they will spend it on the person they like. Your constant whining is not gonna help..

Hmm this is a lot of confusion...let me clear this out. I'm born in Bombay but have lived in the States foreva...and have never seen Shillong even on a map...'N YET' i support Amit Paul thru n thru!!!!!!!!!! No regionalism and thats my theory! So its really not down the drain...I would recommend u to try to read the previous posts properly😊
