Mumbai, Aug 8: With a view to celebrating the 60th Independence Day, Nokia will be presenting 'Nokia Dil Se', a musical extravaganza at the Indo-Pak border at Wagah, featuring artistes like A R Rahman, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Ali Asmat.

The show will be hosted by Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram.

'Routes2Roots', a Delhi-based NGO, is organising the event, which will be telecast live from 2300 hrs on August 14, Pakistan's Independence Day, till 0100 hrs on August 15.

The star-studded event will be the first of its kind and telecast with the help of innovative utilisation of advanced telecommunication, sound engineering and broadcast technology on CNN-IBN, IBN-7, Sony Entertainment Television, CNBC, CNBC Awaaz, MTV, ARY -Digital and Doordarshan.

'Nokia Dil Se' will commemorate Independence Day with a single unifying concert event with the performances taking place from twin stages on either side of the Attari-Wagah border. Live performances will alternate from one stage to another visible to the entire live audience no matter on which side of the border they would be sitting.

Speaking to reporters yesterday, Rakesh Gupta of 'Routes2Roots' said, ''The concert will provide a larger platform to spread the message of universal humanity and oneness to people across the world. We are thrilled to be organising such a historic event and with the kind of cooperation we have received from the authorities of both the countries, the concert is sure to meet its purpose.'' The concert is a celebration of our past acknowledging our shared history and a celebration of our present, displaying our common humanity. It is also a celebration of our future, demonstrating our mutual dreams', he said.

here's the proof that sony isn't the only media patner in this. and amit and deepali were chosen by ARR himself so it's not like sony will say pick these two and promote them, it's such a big concert that i'm sure sony being just one of the media patners can't do that. Sony is just covering the event. i won't go to extreem lengths to prove that Amit and Deepali were chosen based on talent. those who read this and understand this will know in their minds that this is the truth.😊

Even if its sponsored by SONY, I will still enjoy watching my favs sing though it would have been nice to see some II2 contestants sing as well. 😕 But its II3 time and the contestants are more popular now.

There is no doubt that Amit-Deepali got chance because Sony is airing the show. I am glad that they chose the best of II 3.

But it looks like the show is cancelled. Oh well! some other time may be.
