Monday September 18 2006 13:20 IST

MYSORE: If you think the Dasara exhibition would be the same old drab thing this year, you are wrong. There's more fun, frolicking with best of amusement park on lines of Essel World in Mumbai at the Dasara exhibition for more than 90 days till December. The amusement park will have more than 52 items like fire jumping, regular roller coaster, rangers and octopus ride.

What's more? If all works out smoothly, the youth can expect rocking star nights. At Yuva Dasara- a musical night with star singers like Sonu Nigam, Usha Uthup is likely to come true at the expo.

Amidst these added fun, the pranksters, eve teasers beware! For the first time, Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras would monitor the public movements.

Pick picketers, chain snatcher's and those trouble girls could expect to invite trouble for themselves, as a police outpost outside the exhibition ground and the exhibition office would host television monitors to keep an eye on the activities of the anti- social elements.

Before any rock n roll, there will be a meaningful event to pay tributes to the King of Kannada filmdom, matinee idol Dr Rajkumar.

Apart from Sonu Nigam and Usha (rock show), the exhibition event organisers, Karnataka Commercial and Industrial Corporation, has planned to rope in S.P. Balasubramanyam, music director, Hamsalekha and Kannada actor Darshan to host the evening night.

We are making all the efforts to get the dates from their PROs and hope for a positive outcome," Mohammed Ansar, executive officer of KCIC, told this paper.

Not paving way to the star nights day to clash with the regular events of the nine- day Dasara festivity, including Yuva Dasara, the mega events are proposed only after Vijayadashami day on October 2 and Rajkumar Shradanjali on October 5.

There will be no extra charges, only a barring entry fee Rs 5 on week days and Rs 10 on weekends and government holidays to witness the events.

"We want to give visitors a colourful treat with their family and friends to cherish the event. All 250 stalls will be filled by October 1. Already, 50 per cent stalls are booked," Ansar said. Many of the prospective stall owners are in Selam till September 20 for an exhibition.

They were expected to come at Dasara exhibition by the end of the month, he added.
