INDIAN IDOL 2 CONTESTS

A successful contest series held between the various groups of the Indian Idol 2 section - aka the Antara, Neha, Meenal, Monali, Karunya, Amey, Panna, etc groups.

Every week one task was presented to the groups and ultimately one group was eliminated based on points given to their entries. This week we present the finale - the final contest between the Antara House and the Amey House. The two criteria being

1) An animated Best Wishes card for your idol

2) An imaginary Koffee with Karan episode of your idol after having won the contest

Hey you wonderful people...

Welcome to my show –

The one and only Koffee with Karan....

Today we have a very special guest in the show – A talented village belle. Should I waste any more time on introductions? Let's straightaway meet the dashing ravishing pulchritudinous first female Indian Idol... Everyone… let's welcome Antara Mitraaaaa....

(Claps all around as Antara enters and Karan welcomes her)

Karan: Hello Antara.... how are you? Oh my... do you look sexy or DO YOU LOOK SEXY?

(He gives her a peck on her cheek *kiss kiss*)

ANTARA: Thank U... thank u so much Karan I mean Karan ji! I just can't express my feelings right now.

Karan: So, darling.... how does it feel like to be the first female Indian Idol?

ANTARA: It feels just great... It's the biggest surprise of my life. I just can't tell you in words.

Karan: Then tell me through a song!

(She laughs)

Karan: So, were you confident of winning this title?

ANTARA: Well, I was…sort of…

Karan: Sort of... what? Confident? Over confident?

(She giggles)

ANTARA: No… I mean.... I was trying to give in my hundred percent. Both Karunya and myself used to get good comments from the Judges. I have been very fortunate as I hardly went to the bottom 3 – thanks to junta's support. However, Karunya, is also a very very good singer and everyone's favourite.... so I always had a lurking doubt in the back of my mind.

Karan: Karunya gave you nightmares did he?

ANTARA: No, no.... what is there to be afraid of Karu...he is so sweet. It's just that he's got such a powerful voice and looks of Abhishek so generally the girls would be rooting for him.... and that's why I thought that I might lag behind when it comes to votes.

Karan: Now Antara is a celebrity.... how does that feel like?

(She giggles)

ANTARA: A celebrity? Don't say that.... I am not at all a celebrity.... I am just the same old Antara Mitra from Maslandpur

Karan: But you cannot deny that Indian Idol is a national contest… and being the first female Indian Idol, you cannot deny that you are indeed a celebrity now.

ANTARA:Yyyesss! It is true

Karan: How does it feel – the attention, the autographs, the photographs, the stares, the accolades and the adulations?

ANTARA: Oh my God. It feels like everyone knows me now... it is a new experience but I am thoroughly enjoying each and every moment of it and loving it.

Karan: Have you met any fan or heard of anything from your fans- something that is truly memorable to you?

ANTARA: Any one fan? Ermm yes yes… there is this website I heard of… a couple of months back during the competition called www.India-Forums.com. They have many fan groups there – one of them being an Antara Fan Club!!!! I read a few pages and it really moved me to tears. One person I particularly remember was one Sumesh ji. It seems he used to visit the temple regularly to pray for my success. I am indeed blessed to receive such love and support.

Karan: Temple? Hmmmm… That seems to have worked, hasn't it?

ANTARA: yessss

Karan: Ok Antara watch out now! A typical Koffee with Karan question.

ANTARA: Oops!

Karan: You have come from a very small village Maslandpur! There aren't even proper roads or any facilities... Apart from managing to adjust to showbiz, how does it feel to be wearing sexy spaghetti strapped dresses? What does grandma have to say about it?

(She giggles)

ANTARA: Well... you see.... in order to step into the glamour world and to reach certain goals, everyone has to make some adjustments. In the beginning I used to feel awkward, however; the goal kept me going. ... and that is how I adjusted step by step. I have just changed my clothes and hairstyle ...but from inside I am still the same old Antara.

Karan: Indian idol? With that answer I feel they have groomed you to contest for Miss India now.

ANTARA: Oh My God!!!!

Karan: Antara, when are you going to introduce us to Mr. Antara?

ANTARA: What??????

Karan: Oh Surely you must have had your fair share of crushes.

ANTARA: No, No I don't have one... I have never had one!

Karan: Come on Antara… at least for the sake of the audience, pick someone from the contestants…

(She giggles loudly)

ANTARA: Noooo.... No way! Nothing of that sort... we all are just great friends and that's it.

Karan: Are you sure? No soft corner for anyone?

ANTARA: *giggle* No

Karan: Ok miss goody two shoes! Shall we get someone on the show to make sure you have your facts right?

Please welcome the one and only ever-invigorating ever-refreshing A-NEW ANU Malik!!!!!

(Anu Malik enters to a round of applause. Antara gets up and touches his feet. Karan hugs him)

Karan: What happened Anu? It's been a long time since we met up…

Anu: Kya Karen? You don't seem to want me to direct music for your films. You only want me on Koffee with Karan

(They all giggle)

Karan: That is because you stopped wearing your topi!!! Didn't you hear that music only sells if you wear a topi these days?

Anu: Haan baat to sahi hai!!!!

(Antara giggles with a shocked expression)

Karan: So Anu, you were backstage listening to Antara's interview. Do you agree with all she has to say?

Anu: Well most of it

Karan: So which part did you not agree with?

Anu: The part that Karunya was everyone's favourite. Karunya was Sonu's favourite. Antara was always my favourite.

Karan: Do you mean….

Anu: No don't you dare twist my words Karan. Karunya is an excellent singer, but Antara was my favourite

(Karan smiles)

ANTARA: Thank you Anu ji!!!!!!

(Anu smiles)

Karan: I see the reason for you offering her opportunities in your forthcoming movies

Anu: I bet everyone can.

Karan: I think you both must be familiar with something we call the gift hamper - A neat little hamper from our sponsors.

(He points to the hamper and Anu and Antara both raise their hand up)

Karan: You both will have to fight for it –

(Anu acts like he is strangling Antara)

Karan: not literally! You just answer my questions.

A quick rapid fire - Who would like to go first?

(Both point at the each other)

Karan: ok Anu first…

Karan: Monali or Antara

Anu: (looks at Antara) Antara… No kidding…

Karan: Sonu or Farah

Anu: ha ha...

Sonu when Farah is in a rotten mood

Farah when Sonu is in a rotten mood…

Paracetamol when both are in a rotten mood.

(All laugh)

Karan: Himesh or Rehman

Anu: Karan, mujhe marvaayega yaar! Rehman...

Karan: SONY or STAR

Anu: definitely SONY!!! Atleast till the Indian Idol series lasts.

Karan: Johars or Chopras

Anu: Chopras

Karan: That's it no more movies from me for you to music-direct

(They all laugh loudly)

Karan: Now Antara your turn

(She looks on nervously)

Karan: Most handsome – Amey or Panna

ANTARA: Oh My God!!! Ermm Amey Date…

Karan: Sweetest – Monali or Meenal

ANTARA: Monali don't kill me for this… but I have to say Meenal…

Karan: Anu or Sonu

ANTARA: Oh! No… Karan ji…. If I have to answer… then the answer would be Anu ji…

Karan: I thought you said Sonu was your favourite in an interview

(She giggles and looks at Anu pleadingly)

Karan: The same question I asked Anu – Rehman or Himesh

ANTARA: (giggling) I think Rehman ji.

Karan: Playing back for Kajol or playing back for Aishwarya

ANTARA: Ermmm I would have to say Kajol. She is one of my favourites…

Karan: Kajol? I will definitely let her know that…

Karan: Ok I guess we have come to the end of the questionnaire….

(Anu acts like wiping his brow) …

Karan: and I must say the winner is..

Anu: Wait… mujhe ek shaayari yaad aayee -

Anu: Thank you! Thank you! Now I'll give the acceptance speech too!

Karan: Anu you were definitely going to win the hamper till you actually called that attempt a shaayari!

Anu: What????

(He hands over the hamper to Antara and Antara scampers delightfully with the hamper back to her seat)

Anu: Arre yaar…

Karan: Just sign the coffee mug for me Anu. Antara - there is a blue mug on the table next to you. Please sign it with the silver pen.

(He then leads them to the coffee wall and they place the mug on the wall)

B) INTERVIEW

Karan sitting in his chair, a cup of coffee next to him on the table….

"Today I have a special guest for you. He rocked the Indian Idol stage and made his way into the hearts of millions with his soulful voice. He's the complete package. He's cool but he's hot, the girls love him, and so do their mothers. He's the Agla Idol, no two guesses who I'm talking about, here's Amey Date!"

***Koffee with Karan Music***
Amey walks across the set wearing black pants, light blue shirt, and black jacket. Karan and Amey shake hands, hug, and take their seats.

Karan: So congratulations on winning the title

Amey (smiling and fixing his jacket): Thank you so much

Karan: I have to say when I came to guest judge the show, I thought you had that extra….what should I call it?.....spark! You really stood out, I felt you would be the winner.

Amey: Thanks, that's a really great compliment for me.

Karan: So tell me, you were against Karunya in the finals who was tough competition, what do you think you had over him that helped you to ultimately win?

Amey: Well…uh, I had more votes..heh heh heh. I think Karunya is a brilliant singer and performer and both of us had an equal chance of winning, I think it's just luck and my mother's aashirwad that helped me to reach this stage…..

Karan (frowning): Diplomatic answer Amey! Anyways, who is your girlfriend?

Amey: Arre, I don't have one…

Karan: Are you sure? What about Meenal and Antara……or what happened to the other girl, what was her name? Jyotsna?

Amey: Yea, her name is Jyotsna….They're all very very good friends of mine and they will always be, but I'm not seeing any one of them.

Karan beeps his lie-o-meter!

Karan: Well I heard that after you won the competition you had more girls and their fathers waiting outside your house than Abhijeet Sawant had when he won. Any idea how many marriage proposals you've gotten until now?

Amey: Oh God, I don't know, I didn't keep track! I wasn't expecting it at all…

Karan: You didn't expect the girls to go crazy after you?? (Karan beeps his lie-o-meter)

Amey: Well yea the girls being crazy was fine, I expected that much, but they had brought their parents with them….all these mothers and fathers were wanting to talk to my mother with marriage proposals… ha ha this one man had even brought a cow as dahej (dowry)

Karan (laughing): Oh my God! Are you serious?

Amey: Heh heh yea! He brought a cow….(Amey frowns then laughs)

Karan: (laughing hard)…That's too funny…but ok ok, you're not going to accept any of those proposals I assume, so are you going to just marry a girl that your mother chooses for you?

Amey: Well I would like to marry a girl that I'm in love with, but I will want my mother's approval, definitely.

Karan: Ok so no arranged marriage for you?

Amey: No, I don't think so…

Karan (looks into the camera): I see, ok, well we'll take a quick break right here, stay with us.

------BREAK------

Karan (looking in camera): In conversation with the next Indian Idol, Amey Date

(looking at Amey) So I want to know about some bad experiences on the show, like any problems between the contestants or judges, or anything that went on that the rest of us don't know about

Amey: Well I think we were all much too busy preparing for the show that we didn't really have time for personal problems…there was too much work to do, and also we were away from our families so we all became a family

Karan: Ok…So one thing I noticed, you never seemed to get full appreciation from the judges, especially Sonu Nigam…he always favored Karunya, what do you have to say about that?

Amey: Well…

Karan: Well now that you've won it really doesn't matter, but what did you feel at the time?

Amey: It didn't feel good because for me Sonuji's opinion was very important.. I aspire to reach the heights he has. So when he was not happy with my performance or my singing, I took it to heart.

Karan: Ok I see….so you and Karunya, were the both of you friends? Because I remember when it was top 5 I read that you, Sandeep, and Anuj were a group and Karunya was always hanging out with Antara? What was your equation like with Karunya?

Amey: No no, we were all friends, Karunya is a really good friend of mine

Karan: Are you sure? Or are you just saying that? You mean to tell me there was no rivalry between the both of you?

Amey: No it was just healthy competition, I don't think there is anything to gain by becoming rivals, I appreciate talented singers and Karunya is one of them…

Karan beeps his lie-o-meter!

Karan: Such boring answers Amey! We're going to take another break, we're in conversation with Amey Date, stay with us.

----- BREAK-----

Karan: And we're back,in conversation with the next Indian Idol himself, Amey Date. So Amey, it all sounds very exciting, being Idol and all, but one can't deny that as of late Abhijeet Sawant has not been looking to fit. He looks tired and worn out, and Sony doesn't seem to be promoting him anymore. I also remember him saying he didn't get to spend time with his family and he became short tempered after winning. Aren't you afraid the same thing will happen to you?

Amey: I can't really speak for Abhijeet, but I do know that Sony made him a star and he's popular, he's won awards, and done really well…obviously there is a price to pay for fame, I'm aware of that so I should be prepared.

Karan: But it seems the success only lasts a year until the next Idol is crowned, then Sony forgets the old Idols.

Amey: Well even that one year of success is a big deal for me, I am thankful even for that much….and one has to accept that fame isn't going to last forever.

Karan: You are such a nice boy Amey, you seem to have your head on your shoulders….
But you are still giving me Ms. Universe answers….we're going to change that right now because its time for the rapid fire round! I'm sure you know all about my rapid fire round nah?

Amey: Heh heh heh of course

Karan: This is my favorite part of the show, I will ask you questions and you have to give me witty replies, we'll allow u long answers as well. Are you ready??

Amey (sitting up straighter): Yeah I'm ready heh heh.

Worst Judge: Farah Khan, she's good but from the 3, i would say the other 2 rank higher than her.

Sexiest Female Contestant: Meenal Ji and humari Paris ki Model, Antara.😉

Karan: Please chose one.
Amey: Hehehehe...ok....Shaberi 😳

Sonu or Anu: I liked both of them, but I like Sonuji more as I m also a singer.

Panna as Performer or Panna as Singer: Panna as a performer, he rocks the stage, not the mike.

If you were stranded on an island, which female contestant would you want to be stranded with: Maybe Neha, she is funny, she makes me laugh a lot, time pass ho jayegaa (Amey giggles).

Mallika Sherawat in Murder or Mallika as a guest judge: Mallika Ji as a jugde, she had some good shyrees.

Whoes ouster was more depressing or more upsetting, Meenal's or Panna's: I think both exits were sad, but Panna was a really close friend of mine and he was too brilliant to have left that week, plus we expected him to go far. Lekin kisi na kisi ko toh jaana hai

Rank the contestants in order of preference; Panna, Meenal and Antara: I always had thought Panna is an excellent performer, Meenal was a really good singer, and Antara's voice was really sweet, but according to singing...I would rank Meenal 1st, Antara 2nd and Panna 3rd....

Most surprising pick up line a female fan has ever used before: Were you arrested earlier? It's gotta be illegal to look that good!😆

Priyanka's singing or judging: I think she is a good singer, which means she can judge singers too, so she is good in both departments.

Most memorable message on the wall besides yours: Here I would definately say Meenal's, don't let defeat defeat you, but you defeat the defeat.

Which contestant comes to your mind when i say the following:
Most Arrogant: Umm....uhhh.....Nakash
Most Underrated: Jyotsna
Most Intelligent: Has to be my fans 😃 haha, ok lets see....Antara? 🤔
Most Easily Influenced: Sandeep
Hot and Your Type: Arey baap re....haha your joking right?

Karan: Noooo 🤔 and you have to choose 1, c'mon Amey we know there must be some one..

Amey: No one really, but if I have to choose, I would say Meenal because she thought I was the hottest from the male contestants on Valentine's Day 😆

Hot and Not Your Type: Shaberi

A rumour about yourself that you nearly believed: That Meenal and I were caught on Valentine's night at a near by restaurant having a quite romantic dinner. When really we were all depressed because Panna had been voted out that day.

The craziest proposal made to you by a fan: Coming up to me with a marriage proposal with a cow as a dowry!!😆

A recent hindi film song you would've loved to playback sing: Chand Sifarish from Fanaa. I think Shaan has sung it beautifully, and the number is very soothing..

First think you would say if you saw Sushmita Sen: I wouldn't be able to utter a word infront of her, but if I could, I would sing her the song tumse milke dil ka hai jo haal kya kahein, hogaya kaisa yeh kamaal kya kahein😳

One thing that Karunya has that you dont: Abhishek Bachchan looks😆

Complete the sentence: When Meenal calls you Ameyji you: Arey baap re......mein yehi kahoonga ke mere dil mein halki hakli tring tring bajti hain😆

One thing about a woman that drives you wild: Her eyes ofcourse, because they are the windows to a persons soul...

What did you like about your RDB performance: It was something different i did, even though my voice wasn't suited for this song, I attempted it. I liked the fact that I sang it and proved I am versatile. Other than that i would say Farah Ji's favourite, the Aamir Khan step 😆

What u disliked about your RDB performance: There was some misunderstanding about the scale, because I was told that the brightness of the song would go, but Sonuji corrected me, so it was a nice experiment.

You are having a dream that Farah, Anu, and Sonu are staging a walkout because Karunya has been voted out, how would u like it to end: That they all accept the result because jo jeeta hai woh jeeta hai, jo hara hai, usse har manzoor kar chahiye, and if the final decision was left for the audience, then they should accept the audience's verdict, they should encourage both Karunya and the remaining contestants to go far and make a good name in the music industry...

Karan: Ok that was the end of my rapid fire round and Amey looks very relieved that it's over. I will announce the result after this short break.

----- BREAK -----

Karan: We just finished our rapid fire round with Amey and because he is not competing with anyone I had to decide if he should get the coffee hamper….and the verdict is….I think Amey gave good answers so he wins the coffee hamper on one condition!

Amey: Ohhh, what's the condition?

Karan: You have to sing something for us.

Amey: Ohhhh heh heh that I can do! Ummm…. Any requests?

Karan: Yeah, please sing a song from one of my movies.

Amey: Heh heh heh, okay…umm

(Amey sings: Suraj Hua Madham)

Karan: Wow! That was fantastic!

Amey: Thank you so much.

Karan: Now we have put something together for you, it's a little game. We will put up some pictures on this screen of ours, and you have to give the pictures some captions, and mind you the captions must be good!

Amey: Heh heh heh, I'll try my best. 😊

Karan (to the technicians): Please roll the slides...

Amey: aaaaaaachhhhhuuuuuuuuuuuu......sorry.....itne sare ladke mujhe bimar kardenge, mein toh sirf karunya ko bhaav doongi

Karan: ...and your saying there's nothing going on???

Amey: It was just a caption, trust me.

Amey: Amey Date ke janne ke baad, yeh hai Idol ka haal. I also have a song for this caption, may i sing it?

Karan: Sure....

Amey: Ok....apni toh jaise taise, todri aise ya vaise, kut jaigi....aapka kya hoga janab-e-ali....aapka kya hoga (Amey starts laughing here)

Karan (Very amused): Wow Amey, perfect song and perfect timing. 100 points for that song. And this game has come to an end, you did a good job.

Amey: Thanks...hehehe

Karan: Well we're at the end of the show but Amey please tell us what projects we can look forward to

Amey: There is the Sony BMG album that will be releasing very soon, we're almost done working on that and have shot the first music video which will be out very soon. That will be the Idol song 'Mere Jaisa Koi Kaha'

Karan: Oh ok that's wonderful, can't wait to see that.

Amey (smiling): Yeah I'm very excited about it.

Karan: So now it's time to say goodbye, thank you so much for coming on my show, Amey. I want to wish you all the best… I hope you achieve lots of success and make it as big as or even bigger than Abhijeet Sawant. Maybe I will be working with you in the future, you know, you might sing a song for one of my movies.

Amey: Oh wow, that would be a dream come true….Thank you so much for inviting me, it was my pleasure to come here.

Karan: Uh, before you go, there is a mug right next door to you, please sign it and we will put it up on my coffee wall.

Amey: Sure.

Karan: Thank you Amey!

Karan and Amey get up, hug, and walk to the coffee wall to place the mug and the show ends.

Round 8 Last Round of IF-II2 Section

So this time there will be two themes n no options

1) You have to make a best wishes greeting card for your house contestant. (animated)

2) Ur house contestant has been invited on Koffee with Karan show as a guest. Prepare an interview how Karan will ask question and how your house contestant will give reply. (after winning the contest)

Guidelines:

1) Do not use any kind of offensive language which could disqualify House from the contest.

2) If any of you have any problems or query, kindly post it on thread, I will reply them soon.

3) Kindly don't get hyper if I am not available for any personal reasons. Sooner or later I will answer all queries. If delay is from my end then you need not worry, it will be my responsibility.

4) And finally work in as a team. It will be better if everyone keep their team problem within themselves, and sort out things coolly. No need to make it an announcement in public or PM any of us.

5) Again I request everyone to take it as just a fun game. No need to go personal.

6) Last Date of submission is 17^h April 2006

A great slide show , although the written matter could have been more interesting to read.

Interview- 4.5/5
The interview was very interesting to read and the length perfect. Anu Malik as a guest addition was very interesting .

Amey House-

Animated card- 3.5/5 ( finally viewed it from some one else's lap top😊) I liked the pictures, although i found too much written matter that made it slightly boring to read.

Interview- 3.5/5
The questions and answers both were a bit dry and the interview too long. On the whole a great effort.

Antara House card- 3 out of 5

Interview- 5 out of 5 - this was excellent. It felt very real , the characters were sketched very true to the form, excellent humour, crisp and believable replies.

Amey House- Animated card- 3 out of 5

Interview- 3.5/5 - This was a very good attempt too, though it got a bit too long and a little monotonous. The humour got lost in the length and some boring answers. But very good compilation.

Interview - Nice input, humourous, could have had more questions about antara 😛4.5/5

Card - Could have been better card - cards are generally not more than 2-3 pages 😳 great effort though 3.4/5

Interview - Nice - could have been crisper and a little more cut-throat (typical of all Karan episodes) the photographs and the rapid fire are nice 😆4.2/5

All of you were too good. It was fun reading your Koffee with Karan.
