In the first gala, the boys' gala, Sandeep performed to Main Yahaan Hoon from the movie Veer Zaara. His performance was appreciated by both audience and judges!

In the third gala, the first gala with both boys and girls, Sandeep sang Udit Narayan's first and unforgettable song, Papa Kehtein Hain. He recieved good comments, and also recieved love from the people.

In the fourth gala, the 70's and 80's songs gala, Sandeep sang Kaun Hai Jo Sapnon Mein Ayaaa which is sung by Muhammad Rafi. He wore a shimmery bluish purplish shirt with a tie. Farah Khan loved his acting along with his performance, and so did junta!

In the fifth gala, the Valentines Day gala, Sandeep sang the title song Tere Naam. Junta put Sandeep in the bottom 3 for the first time. Tears ran down Sandeep's cheeks. Everyone cheered him up, and he got the most votes from the bottom 3. Even Farah cried because Sandeep is always smiling, but him crying was a first.

In the sixth gala, the regional gala, Sandeep sang Mitwa from Lagaan. His outfit was great, but his performance wasnt. It was not his day, so he got bad comments from the judges. But the Jutna sure didnt want him to feel bad, so they voted him to the next gala!

In the seventh gala, the Blockbuster movies gala, Sandeep sang Mein Nikla Gaddi Leke from the movie Gadar.He looked like he was having fun when he was performing. And he was also loved by the junta.

In the eighth gala, the shaadi gala, Sandeep sang the classic shaadi song, Mehendi Laga ke rakhna from the classic movie Dilwale Dulhania Lejayenge. He sang yet another Udit Narayan song and Sonu Nigam wasnt that happy. And he was in the week's bottom 2. But he was saved by the junta once again!

In the ninth gala, the top 4 gala. All contestants sang 2 songs, a holi song and an A.R. Rehman song. For holi song, Sandeep wore a cute light blue sherwani he was looking dashing in it. He finally chose to sing a non Udit Narayan song. Holi Khile Ranguvira from the movie Baghban, sung by Big B himself. Sandeep recieved great comments from all the judges.

Sandeep chose a hard song for the A.R. Rehman theme. He sang Rut Aa Gayi Re Rut Chaa Gayi re from the movie 1947 Earth sung by Sukhwinder Singh. Farah Khan stated that this night was Sandeep's best night. and Anu Malik ne Sandeep ke liye tabla bhi bajaayaa. Diya Mirza said every race has a dark horse, but they are the most beautiful. Sandeep was the smiling dark horse of the Indian Idol! Sandeep recieved the most love from the junta and went on to top 3!!
