'Sun Zarra' starts off with Indian Idol runner up Amit Sana rendered solo soundtrack "Unse Nazrein Mili". This soundtrack is a slow romantic number that explains the state of mind and heart of lovers when they confront each other. This sounds like a conventional 90's number that has been often sung by Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu in melodramatic and romantic films. Sana sounds ordinary and musical arrangement is unimpressive and uninspiring and fails to attract listeners. Unlike his counterpart Abhijeet Sawant, Sana has not been offered praiseworthy soundtrack and it disappoints his fans too. One wonders why this song is promoted as the soundtrack for upcoming singing talents when the original soundtrack has failed to attract average movie buff. Shandilya has composed its instrumental version "Unse Nazrein Mili (electric guitar)" and it works as signature tune for the film. The album theme soundtrack has failed to impress and unlike his previous youthful numbers it lacks zing. An average show all together!
Amit Sana returns with another solo soundtrack "Sun Zarra", a lovable theme soundtrack that gists out film subject. The singer disappoints once again in this slow and tender moving soundtrack with stale and outdated music. Shandilya's music is boring and fails to collage with even more uninspiring vocals of Amit Sana. The song returns in its second version as "Dil Ki Sun Zarra" as romantic duets in the voices of Amit Sana and Shreya Ghoshal.
Foot tapping "Bhangra" flavors makes promising dent as the "Holi" festival is celebrated in "Woh Raat Mein Boli". Amit Sana sings his heart out in a different style and this time music gels well with his voice. Conventional lyrics have little to offer but are tailor-made for the occasion. New singing talent Kumar Kancha sings in tandem with Sana in this above average soundtrack. It might sound impressive in the context of the film but won't help the singer in getting more projects. Shandilya's music is ordinary but sounds better than the last two tracks. Abhijeet Sawant impresses with "Mar Javan" ('Aashiq Banaya Aapne') and Sana too sounds better in this youthful "Bhangra" number.
Neeraj Shridhar of "Bombay Vikings" promises many vibrant colors as he showers romanticism in "O Jaana Tere Pyar Mein". This comes as a relief to ears simply because the vocals and music are beautiful and reflect the lover's delight. In this experimental album this soundtrack spells magic and Neeraj Shridhar maintains the youthful tempo. The romantically inspiring works wonder with free flowing tender musical arrangement.
The recently launched "Zara Nazron Se" by "Bombay Vikings" has worked wonder with pop genre and this soundtrack will be another feather in their cap. In nutshell this soundtrack can be termed "saving grace" to a loosely conceived album.
Amit Sana comes up with another mediocre soundtrack "Tere Rang Se", conventional solo romantic soundtrack. The song is a sub-standard show by composer Sandesh Shandilya with yet another ordinary show by singer Amit Sana. The lyrics are weird and ordinary and the overstretched rendition of the number is boring. Unfortunately, talented singer Amit Sana has sounded ordinary in all compositions he has sung.
"Tere Rang Se" is repeated in female version by another singing prodigy Sanjeevani. She sounds better than Amit Sana but below average music is a big let down. A poor show by all standards and music director Sandesh Shandilya should be blamed for this dismal show.
The album ends up with second version of "Sun Zarra" as "Dil Ki Sun Zarra" in the voices of Shreya Ghoshal and Amit Sana. The composer has tried to add sentimental flavors by incorporating female vocals in the theme track. The lackluster music, insipid music and uninspiring vocals speak for its poor show.
Sandesh Shandilya delivers his worst compositions in this poorly publicized film album 'Sun Zarra'. Neeraj Shridhar ("Bombay Vikings") rendered soundtrack was the only audible soundtrack otherwise it's a losing preposition all the way. Indian Idol runner up Amit Sana disappoints completely in all of his four songs. It would be absurd to expect anything promising for the album.
A huge disappointment!
