Scripted or Reality?

First of all watch this video from last Gala.

Nice observation...The only logical reason I can cook is that probably they had scripted the fact that Rakesh is performing in front of his parents and so he will be nervous or excited...and they will relate this with Sanjay's experience...but later it turned out that Rakesh also forgot his lyrics and the scripted part followed....

But it could well be scripted...you never know!

My guess is that cause of editing they just stopped the show after he said his story...the idol staff looked up the clip and THEN showed it..so there could have a been a break between story and clip that wasnt shown

Well, I think, if we try to think about it in a positive way, then, since the Indian Idol team were collecting all the child memories from the contestants past and also their old pictures, maybe they would have also thought of keeping this video of Sanjay Dutt in his childhood esp since this was his first appearance on camera, in case the need arises for them to show that video.

I don't really think that Rakesh would deliberately let his performance down, as it will ultimately harm himself in the end.

But on the other end, I cannot really justify this as well, it can be planned and it seems to look like that as well on the first look. It seems confusing too. Editing can do magic like this.
