Is that why your arguments got shut down last time? "What is a PG supposed to do, pass". Well passing is the only thing Stockton can do better (Payton is the better scorer, defender, and rebounder). And just because a PG passes better doesn't make him better. Brevin Knight was one of the best passing PGs at a point. Is he better than Tony Parker? Chauncey Billups? Who were both score 1st PGs. Or Mark Jackson I think is 2nd All-Time in Assists. Is he even Top 10 or 20 PG ever? Probably not.

Bottomline, Payton could score a lot better, defend a lot better, and rebound a lot better. Stockton was the better playmaker sure. But Payton was also good at at that, leading league in assists 1 season. And I think Payton is Top 6 All-Time in Assists himself. But the point is, PGs do more than just pass the ball. And since Payton does almost everything better than Stockton, he is better.


Not to mention he destroyed Stockton in the 1996 WCF when both were All-NBA 2nd and All-Stars playing their most important series of their career.
