'Don't mistake my self-confidence for arrogance'

Yashraj Kapil, 19, from Delhi is the latest contestant to get eliminated from Indian Idol 5.

His elimination came as shock to everyone as he was the only contestant to get a second chance during the audition round. Yashraj has previously won a reality show Sitaro Ko Choona Hai on a Real TV.

He tells Rajul Hedge about his experiences. Excerpts:

You looked surprised when your name was announced for elimination

Yes, that is because I wasn't expecting it. I am obviously disappointed because I participated in this show to win.

Some say it was your overconfidence that led to your ouster...

People should not mistake my self-confidence for overconfidence, arrogance or attitude. It is just a part of my personality. I am confident about my talent and I believe that everyone should have the nerve to take their talent forward.

'Don't mistake my self-confidence for arrogance'

'The amount of appreciation, identity and fame you get on Idol cannot be compared with other shows'

'I am working hard on my album'

You were the winner of another reality show Sitaron Ko Choona Hai. What made you take part in this show?

Indian Idol has its own charm. The amount of appreciation, identity and fame you get on Idol cannot be compared with other shows. It has been an amazing experience. Salimji (judge Merchant) always supported me. I have learnt so much from the judges. This platform will definitely help me in my future.

What were you doing after winning Sitaron Ko Choona Hai?

I continued giving stage shows which I have been doing since childhood.

Which has been your most memorable moment on Idol?

When I got to celebrate my birthday with my parents on Indian idol.

Tell us about your back ground.

I am the only child. I enrolled myself for B.Sc in Delhi but couldn't give my exams due to this competition. I have a diploma in Indian classical music.

What are your future plans?

I am working hard on my album, which will be out very soon. I don't want to talk much about it because I believe that my work should speak for itself. My ultimate aim is to become a music composer.

@BLUE Sorry Dude! Too late

I felt bad for the guy though while watching his elimination.
I felt bad especially when he said " salim ji ko mile bina jaa raha hoon"😳

Good luck Yashraj!
