| November 22, 2005 A star-studded Bollywood music concert, which features a host of popular playback singers, will take place at the weekend, courtesy of Showtime Promotions and Sashim Entertainment. These stars include leading playback singers Shaan, pictured, Anu Malik, Kunal Ganjawala and Amit Sana. They will perform at the Westridge Park Tennis Stadium, Durban, on Saturday at 7pm, and on Sunday at 5.30pm at the Gallagher Estate, in Midrand. Shaan, who has done playback singing in numerous Bollywood movies, is well known for the tracks My Dil Goes Mmmm, the title song from the film Salaam Namaste; Tere Mere Love Story and Dil Di Nazar both from the movie Main Pyar Kyun Kiya. His recent hit was also Just Walk into My Life from Main Aisa Hi Hoon and Tere Kurti Sexy from Vaada. Kunal, who will be performing for the first time in South Africa and who won the Best Playback Singer award last year, is sure to rock the concert with the song that made him popular, Chanaa Vey. His next songs are from the Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor movie Kyon Ki, which is currently on the Nu-Metro circuit. Anu Malik, the great music director and singer, was last in South Africa a decade ago. He will be accompanied by his own set of musicians from India. Amit Sana, a runner-up in the Indian Idols, has just launched his CD Chal Diye on Sony, and will also be part of this musical spectacular. The show will be choreographed in India with special lighting and effects. Tickets are on sale from R80 and will be sold at all branches of AA Video in Overport, Chatsworth and Pietermaritzburg.
