Wow after so long.... Chapter. ...but this chapter was amazing loved it

CHAPTER 10- IMLIE IS DETECTED WITH IRREGULAR HEART RHYTHMS

It was early morning that the nurse knocked the door before she came in.

“ Good morning Mr. Rathore. I am here to check on Imlie. It won’t take more than 5-10 mins and you’ll have all your privacy back” the nurse had seen and trusted the rumors that Aryan and Imlie were indeed engaged like many other people.

“ That’s fine. I will wait outside” Aryan said and quickly went outside. He didn’t answer the nurse anything on privacy thing as he knew where she was coming from and really didn’t want to explain every damn person the sequence of events and the truth. He was upset and indeed very angry but Imlie’s health is what mattered to him the most currently.

Meethi joined in and helped the nurse. She was concerned that Imlie wasn’t up yet.

As nurse exited the room, she walked with the nurse talking about how she thinks Imlie is.

“ Why isn’t she up yet?” Aryan asked as soon as he saw the nurse coming out.

Don’t worry Mr. Rathore. Your fiancée will be fine. As I was telling Imlie’s mom that the sedation was strong and will make her sleep for a few hours more” Aryan and Meethi looked at each other for a moment but didn’t say anything. The nurse explained more about the tests and when the results are expected and left.

Aryan had already notified him being out of office for the day to his assistant who had further cascaded it.

Narmada and Anand also left for the hospital in the morning around 9 am. They knew how much worried Aryan was.

“ Massi I wanted to ask you something, can I?”

“ You don’t need permission Anand. Tell me, what is it?”

“ Do you think Aryan is more concerned about Imlie than normally he is for others?”

“ Do you mean if I think he considers her more than just a friend?”

“ Yes, what do you think? You know we have grown up together and I haven’t seen Aryan worrying like he is doing now. I can never imagine Aryan staying at hospital overnight for anyone but his immediate family members. We know how much he hates hospitals. He has handled much difficult situations in the past both professionally and personally but the concern and worry I see now, it’s new to me. I have always known him as a tough guy with no emotions to show. I know at heart he is super soft but outside he is a hard nut. Do you think there is something more to this friendship?” Anand had always been very close to Aryan’s family and concerned about Aryan like an elder brother.

“ I do feel the same Anand. I think there is some feeling he has for Imlie that he is himself not aware about. You know him, he never had a girlfriend or been in love, I am thinking if it is indeed that this time, he will take time to understand his feelings”

“We can talk to him, Massi”

“That’s what I think I don’t want to do Anand. I want them to explore the feelings themselves. We will be always there for them if they decide to proceed further but the decision to pursue will be theirs. I know Aryan is the best in professional decisions and has no experience about these situations but I will still want him to make his decision. I already like that girl but that won’t make me force any decision upon him. Arpita spoke to me yesterday about it and she also feels the same like us. So it’s like we all know but do they know too is the question. Also, when they realize, will they want to pursue it further? Does Imlie feel the same about Aryan?…there are so many questions but like I said they need to explore it themselves and we will support their decision whatever it may be”

“ That’s such a great thought Massi, the world needs more mother’s like you”

“ Yes, we need to let our kids explore their feelings. You tell me what do you think about Imlie and this whole thing?”

“ Well Massi, I haven’t had a chance to interact with her much and whatever I know is only professional. On that front, I see her as a talented girl. She has a unique spark in her…the go getter attitude I mean. Her manager Rohan also has only good things to say about her. She comes out as a family oriented girl too. My experience says she will be a good combination of career oriented yet family person who values relationships. I am happy for Aryan if he pursues this decision. He may come out as a hard cookie to crack to others but we know he needs a companion not a showpiece like many high society model like girls. He will anyday choose a simple, humble, kind and caring girl over the other. So, it’s a yes from me too” Anand said with a big smile on his face and so had Narmada.

“ Here he comes” Anand said to Narmada looking at Aryan who was walking towards them.

“ Aryan, have breakfast dear. We got it for you all. Nurse told us Imlie can’t have unless her reports are out in sometime. They may need to do additional tests if needed”

“ I am not hungry Maa”

“ You haven’t eaten anything since yesterday evening, I know. Have something child”

“ No Maa, I am not feeling like. Did the nurse tell when the reports are expected?”

“ Yes, within next one hour. Everything will be fine. Don’t worry” Anand could make out that Aryan was very stressed.

“Ok” Aryan said while sitting on the chair next to him.

Narmada also went inside to meet Meethi understanding how much worried she may be due to all this.

The nurse along with the doctor walked towards Imlie’s room. Imlie had gained consciousness and they were called to check on her.

Aryan saw the doctor and nurse walking towards Imlie’s door and started walking towards the room too.

In the room, doctor checked on Imlie for around 5 minutes while others waited on the side.

“ We have your reports Imlie and need your consent to disclose them. As per the hospital rules, we can only disclose after patient’s consent to only one’s patient agrees. Are you sure you want to have all these people here while we discuss your reports? While you were sedated, we took Meethi Ji’s consent as your mother to complete other formalities. She knows most of it what we are going to tell you” Doctor Sachin said looking at Imlie.

Imlie wasn’t sure so looked at Meethi.

“ Yes, Doctor. We can talk here. With all what they have done for us in the last couple of days, they are like family to us now” Meethi said looking at Narmada who kept a comforting hand on Meethi’s shoulder.

“ Ok, so Miss Imlie we did some tests to understand the reason for blackouts you have had in last 24 hours. As the reports have it, we detected irregular heart rhythms. We will have to do more tests to find more and some procedures to start with. Meethi ji and Mr. Rathore, Imlie will need frequent hospital visits for the next few weeks. She may also need attendant with her. You will get information about the tests and schedule from Nurse Maya here” Doctor Sachin said entering some information on his tab while talking.

“ Is there something to worry about?” Aryan was definitely more concerned about Imlie now.

“ Mr. Rathore, your fiancée looks good otherwise to me. But nothing can be confirmed until we do more tests. There are many people who lead normal life after knowing this and some need procedures and lifetime care. So it all depends”

“ I am not his fiancée”

“ She is not my fiancée”

They both said almost at the same time.

“ Oh sorry, I just saw in the news” Doctor Sachin was confused this time. “ Thanks for letting me know and please collect the schedule details from the nurse. Imlie you need to stay at the hospital until evening today. We will get your discharge papers prepared after some more tests this afternoon”

“ Sure, Doctor. Anything else we need to be careful about?” Aryan walked with Dr. Sachin outside the room before asking this.

“ No stress and no hectic schedule” she needs plenty of rest until we start the procedure and try getting things under control. We don’t want to delay the procedure Mr. Rathore.”

“ Thanks Doctor, we will be careful” Aryan said and left for Imlie’s room again.

“ Amma we need to inform warden mam about the frequent visits too” Imlie was talking to Meethi and Narmada who was sitting beside Meethi on the couch by Imlie’s bed.

“ And hope we get permission for attendant too, Imlie” Meethi was concerned about the financials around the same but wanted the best for her child. She had already rung Imlie’s dada once but couldn’t speak yet. She knew he will do anything to make their child get better.

Imlie was thinking the financials too like Meethi. “Lower middle class families always have to think of directing resources from one place to another as there is no spare money mostly. It’s like delay this for now and fix the priority thing first for them always” she was thinking in her mind when Aryan entered.

“Imlie you need to take rest. My driver will get soup for you in some time and some light food for you and your mom in next 1 hour. I have spoken to the doctor and you can have it now. Also, I think you may need to take 3 months of medical leave from the office. The doctor suggests that you should avoid any kind of exertion for the next few months”

“ I can’t Sir”

“ What do you mean you can’t? There’s no choice Imlie”

“ Sir, I have some responsibilities. I need to rethink this decision”

“ Imlie you can take care of others when you are yourself fit and right now you are clearly not”

Arya entered in at this time. She had met Imlie once since she woke up and was out now to speak to the warden.

“ Hello, Sir. Good morning” Arya said looking at Aryan.

She then awkwardly moved towards Imlie.

“ She said she needs to seek some permission to let the attendant stay at the hostel. It may take 3-4 days to get the permission”

“ Ok, we can stay in a hotel in the meantime. The attendant is arranged from the hospital the nurse said” Imlie said looking at Meethi as she nodded a yes.

“ What are you saying? Imlie you need care. You can’t stay at the hotel” Narmada said walking towards Imlie’s bed.

“ No, Aunty. We will be fine. We will find a decent place. It will be easy, no worries” Imlie kind of knew what Narmada was coming to.

“ No dear, I don’t agree. Hotels can never be as comfortable as homes. You can stay with us for these 3-4 days. Meethiji you explain her please”

“ Narmada ji, we will manage don’t worry”

“ Aryan you say beta. I don’t think hotel is a good option at this time”

“ Mom is right. Don’t go to hotel. Stay at our place for a few days”

“ No sir, it’s really not needed. There are many rumors alreadyyyy”

“ I DON’T CARE ABOUT THEM ANYMORE. They can say what they want to, I don’t care” Aryan said it straight looking in Imlie’s eyes. Imlie didn’t utter a word after that. She knew Aryan was not going to listen to her this time. She also knew she needs to find a solution soon which is financially viable and manageable. 3-4 days and then she should be good to move to her hostel she thought.

Aryan left with Narmada after sometime after letting Meethi know that he will be back by evening around the discharge time and that all required formalities were completed.

Meethi helped Imlie change clothes and to get ready around the discharge time as Aryan could be there any moment now to pick them up for the Rathore Mansion.
