Chapter 18
A month had passed. Imlie was finally going back to Bhaskar Times & so was AKT.
Aryan drove his car with Imlie in his passenger's seat. They reached Bhaskar Times & entered the office together.
"Imlie" Rahul called.
Imlie stopped along with Aryan, who was giving Rahul a death stare.
"Umm..Pooja karna hai..I mean Pooja bhula rahi hai, article submit karna hai" Rahul ran away from there seeing Aryan's expressions.
"Achanak se kya hua isse" Imlie said to herself and looked at Aryan who stared back at her.
"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" Aryan asked.
"Tumne zaroor kuch kiya hoga. Aise ghooro mat bechare ko" Imlie chided.
"Acha wo bechara hai." Aryan retaliated
"Aryan Singh Rathore, aap ne mere article mein changes kiye aur mujhe notify bhi nahi kiya" AKT questioned Aryan.
"Mr. Tripathi, apne bakwas likha aur submit kiya. How dare you? And you were on suspension. Lagta aapko apni naukari se pyaar nahi" Aryan replied.
"Apne obituary bohot likh liya. Ab aap agony aunt wala column sambalenge. Waise bhi aapko dusro ke maamlo mein zyaada interest hai. Yaha apna shauk poora kijiye" Aryan dismissed him.
"Imlie mere cabin mein aao" Aryan said to Imlie and went to his cabin.
"Jao Tumhara boyfriend bula raha hai. Kahin naraaz na hojaye" AKT taunted Imlie.
"Tumhe toh experience hoga iska, Mr.Tripathi" Imlie taunted him back following Aryan to his cabin.
"I sold your apartment, Imlie. Unn paiso se dusra 3BHK apartment liya hai. We can check the apartment after office." Aryan said omitting the fact that this apartment was near his house.
"Kaha liya" Imlie asked Aryan
"Mujhe exact location pata nahi. I just saw the pictures & video call pe realtor had given me a virtual tour" Aryan said
"Aise hi buy kar liya fast forward mein. Kuch gadbad hua toh flat ke saath" Imlie asked.
"I'm Aryan Singh Rathore. Uss Realtor ko sue kar dunga if he cheated." Aryan replied.
Ranjit was assigned a big breaking news article. A male politician had made personal gender bias comments on a female politician.
Unfortunately, Ranjit was following on another big story and wanted to focus on that, so he rejected the story.
AKT wished he was assigned this case instead of Agony Aunt column. He had written advices on few of the questions he received and submitted it to Mr. Roy
He was called in Aryan's cabin. Mr. Roy was also sitting there.
"Mr. Tripathi, ye kya hai?" Aryan said pointing to his Agony Aunt column.
"Such a joke" Aryan said lifting the printed copy & tearing the paper into pieces.
"Hume serious journalism mein interest hai agar aap mujhe Politician wala article likhne denge then I'll show you what I am capable of. " AKT said angrily.
"Okay" Aryan replied simply shocking both AKT & Mr. Roy.
AKT went out of Aryan's cabin feeling elated that he was finally doing something he was interested in.
Mr. Roy didn't understand how Aryan agreed easily especially when Aditya had rudely spoken to him. Normally, he would give a fitting reply. Mr. Roy raised this question to Aryan. Aryan didn't reply.
That evening Imlie & Aryan went to Imlie's new apartment. Imlie thought it was better than her previous apartment.
All her furniture and stuff was shifted here. Nobody knew about this apartment except her & Aryan. Plus, it was near Rathore Mansion.
"Hume acha laga. Pehle darr rahe the thoda jab tum bole dekha nahi hai yaha aake" Imlie said.
" Yaha hum jaldi shift kar denge, ye weekend" Imlie continued.
Aryan felt sad that she won't be staying with him anymore.
"Acha, ek aur kaam hai" Imlie said to Aryan.
She explained how she had received Tripathi's properties in alimony & she wanted to sell it. She didn't want anything belonging to Tripathi's.
Aryan agreed to help her and asked her to give him property papers.
The money she had received, she had bought another house in Pagdandia. She was just sorting the paper work before she can officially own it. She had paid for her current home repair's and gave her Amma some money via money order. Luckily, She had opened her's & her Amma's bank account earlier. However, her Amma still required assistance and preferred money order via post office instead of withdrawing from bank.
They went back to Rathore Mansion where Arpita took Imlie to discuss about her new apartment.
After dinner, Aryan was in his room working when Arpita entered.
"Jaa rahi hai wo, isliye udaas ho" Arpita asked Aryan.
"She's not interested in Rahul. Toh Rahul aur Imlie ki setting karna chhod do." Aryan said to Arpita ignoring her question.
Ye gadha nahi maanega Arpita thought.
"Rahul nahi toh koi aur sahi. Dusra intern kaun hai...Satinder Bilayti. Kal tumhare office mein aake milti hoon. Imlie ne mujhe kaha tha gabru jawaan hai wo. Shayad iss baar baat ban jaaye." Arpita said.
"Aapko kya rishte karne wali aunty banna hai jo aap pehle uss Rahul, jiska naam most over used hai. Ab Satinder. Kal bologi mohalle ke Ram Prasad Mistri se jiska karkhana hai joote ka" Aryan said irked.
"Acha idea hai. Agar Satinder se baat nahi bani toh Ram Prasad Mistri bura option nahi hai. ". Arpita replied.
"Waise bhi ab Imlie iss mohalle se 2 min ki doori pe hogi by car & 7 mins by walk." Arpita continued.
"Chahe aap 1 rishte laaye ya sau Imlie agar ready nahi hogi toh aapki itne mehnat waste hai" Aryan said confidently.
"Na na karte pyar tumhi se kar baithe,
Karna tha inkaar magar iqraar tumhi se kar baithe" Arpita sang teasingly and walked away.
"ABP" Imlie said when she saw Aryan at her door.
"Satinder kaisa hai" Aryan asked Imlie. Aryan thought to gauge Imlie's reaction if she had any feelings. Gabru Jawaan, my foot.
"Acha hai" Imlie replied, thinking maybe he was talking about Satinder's work & was taking her feedback.
"Kal usne jo article likha hum toh impress ho gaye. AKT jaisa mentor hone ke baad bhi bande mein bohot talent hai. Baki jaisa nahi hai bilkul humari tarah hai wo" Imlie continued.
Does this mean she has feelings for him? Or was she just impressed with his talent.
"And mein" he said softly
"Tum toh akkadbagge ho" she said with straight face then she started laughing.
"Mazak kar rahe hai. Tum toh Hindi film ke hero ho" She said
"Mein hero nahi Villain hoon"

Imlie bursted out laughing, hearing Aryan say Villain.
"Agar tum villain ho toh hum Roma hai. Don film wali.." Imlie said
"Let me guess SRK ki movie don. Jungli Billi" Aryan replied while Imlie nodded.
"Tum villain nahi ho" Imlie said still laughing.
"Toh kya hoon mein" Aryan said raising his eyebrow.
"Tum...tum anti-hero ho. Wo jaise chaamgaadad aadmi" Imlie said
"What the hell is chaamgaadad aadmi?" Aryan asked
"What nahi Who. Wo jo chaamgaadad jaise kaapde pehanta hai...kaale kaale" she replied.
"You mean Batman. Bruce Wayne" Aryan said.
"Ha..tum uski tarah gaadi tez fast forward mein chalate ho." Imlie replied.
"Mujhe naya wala bohot pasand hai. Baetman Baetman tum ne chura mera dil ka chain" Imlie started singing Baetman version of isspiderman.
Aryan just stared at her, happily singing and laughing at her own antics.
Next Morning, AKT interviewed politician and agreed with his statement. He highlighted the female politician in a negative light.
When the interview went on air. Bhaskar times received a massive backlash on twitter and other social medias especially Aditya Kumar Tripathi and demanded his termination and apology. He had offended various females as well as supporters of the female politician.

Other news channels took advantage of this and portrayed AKT as sexist and egoist. They went one step forward and revealed AKT was demoted and how he had married two women at the same time & cheated on them both. Also mentioning his last obituary article he has published. The male politician was himself an illiterate and practiced caste system. He had open criminal cases against him.
The female politician issued a statement condemning the Aryan Kumar Tripathi and requesting Bhaskar Times for severe action to be taken against him. She had filed an FIR against the male politician & AKT for defaming her.
Few hours later, the male politician apologised for his remarks and shifted the blame to AKT. He explained his statement was published out of context. The interviewer was interested in this narrative and refused to hearing the whole incident. The interview aired was edited to fit the interviewer's narrative.
Bhaskar Times also released a statement & issued apologies to the female politician and promised to take strict action against Aditya Kumar Tripathi.
Aryan was looking at the news, he knew this would happen given Mr. Tripathi's biased opinions & temperament. If he had handled the interview from a neutral perspective then all this could have been avoided. That's the reason why he didn't object to his rude demand and easily agreed.
He received a call informing him his work was done.
Mr. Tripathi's termination letter was sitting on Aryan's desk the reason stated for his termination was defamation, false narrative journalism, poor performance, insubordination despite repeated warnings.
Aryan signed the termination letter and asked Mr. Roy to deliver it to AKT.
Imlie saw how things at escalated rapidly, she knew Aditya Kumar Tripathi will face some consequences for his biased journalism but she never expected the backlash he had received on social media.
AKT had went home after editing his interview, he watched the interview in Tripathi Niwas along with Tripathi's. He was quite happy with his work & was waiting for his new boss to admit his mistake and recognise his potential.
He saw the tweets & comments on his interview & was shocked at the response. His family worried about him.
Just then, AKT received termination letter.
Bhaskar Times released another statement that they have investigated this matter and found Aditya Kumar Tripathi guilty as result AKT is terminated effective today.
That night, Aryan went back to his room, looked at his & Arvind Jiju's photo & smirked.
"Jo zillat apko uss bloody journalist ki wajar se milli aaj usse wo hi mil rahi hai. Ye sirf shurwat hai, Mr. Tripathi. Let's see how will you deal with it when the media & everyone is against you because of someone else.”
And so the game begins.

Chapter 20
Earlier that day (after the interview had just aired)
Aryan had asked AKT to take one on one interview for Bhaskar Times News Channel which was to be broadcasted this afternoon as well as in the evening instead of writing an article for the newspaper.
Aryan had seen AKT's interview, it exceeded his expectation. Mr. Tripathi went ahead & ruined his career single handedly.
He saw the potential it had to destroy Mr. Tripathi's career if this went viral. He knew he just had to ignite this fire.
So Aryan, asked his security incharge to tweet against Mr. Tripathi and shared with him the video he had recorded of the interview along with the full interview link. His security incharge tweeted against AKT's interview tagging the female politician and attaching the recorded video & full interview link. His other security detail retweeted the tweet & commented against AKT. In an hour, Aryan saw how this interview had spread like wildfire burning Mr. Tripathi's reputation.
Then Aryan just sat back and enjoyed the chain reaction.
The next day, AKT went to Bhaskar Times to confront Aryan.
"Mr. Rathore..." before AKT could continue, Aryan interrupted.
"Aapko termination letter nahi mila, Mr. Tripathi. Effective immediately, you're no longer an employee of Bhaskar Times" Aryan said.
"Termination letter mila. But mein iss office saalo se kaam kar rahu. Aapki wajah se ye sab hua hai. I don't accept this termination letter" AKT said tearing the letter.
"Quality matters Mr. Tripathi not Quantity, chahe aap iss office mein 10 saalo se ho ya 20. And you're work is not up to the mark. Aur aapne ye interview zidd karke liye tha. Agar koi aur karta ye interview toh result would have been different. I didn't do anything Mr. Tripathi ye sab aapki soch ki wajah se hua hai. Aapki soch aapki bolne se, aapki likhe gaye articles mein, aapke liye gaye interview mein saaf saaf nazar aate hai. So don't you dare pin it on me." Aryan said.
"Aap chahe ye termination letter accept kare ye na kare, I don't give a damn. Aap iss office se aaj ke baad banned hai agli baar aapko entry nahi milegi. Aapki wajah se Bhaskar Times ki reputation ko suffer karna padh raha hai. Let me warn everyone clearly if you're sympathising with Mr. Tripathi, aap bhi yaha se unn k saath jaa sakte hai. Security, please escort, Mr. Tripathi out aur agli baar ye aaye then call the police" Aryan continued.
No one dared to say anything they had never seen cold & ruthless Aryan. They knew he could be worse but to actually see it. No one wanted to be in Mr. Tripathi's position.
Imlie was assigned to take the female politician's interview that night on camera in order to do some damage control.
A conference room was booked in a hotel where the camera crew setup, there was a buffet for Bhaskar Times staff. Imlie had just finished the interview. It was almost midnight.
She received a call from ABP " Hum bad bahar nikal rahe hai hotel ke" she said. Aryan had come directly from office to pick her up as the route was on the way.
"Ye lo Tumhara interview" Imlie said giving him the memory card. Aryan wanted to look at raw footage before it went to editing.
Imlie noticed Aryan was quiet which he normally was. But he used to comment on something she said but now it didn't look like he was listening to her.
"Tumhari tabyat toh theek hai. Kitna kuch bola ek comment ya snide remark bhi nahi. Bas 2-3 din aur phir mein apne naye ghar shift karungi phir mujhe miss mat karna" Imlie said laughing.
They reached Rathore Mansion when Aryan stopped her from going inside the house by holding her wrist.
Imlie looked back at Aryan who was looking all serious and intensely at her.
"Tum mera ek kaam karogi bina mujhse sawaal kiye" he asked.
"Ha..kya karna hai" Imlie asked.
"Mere naam pe Tripathi's ki saari properties jo tumhare pass hai kar do" Aryan said.
"Okay. Mein tumhare naam pe karungi" she said. Imlie had already given him property papers this morning.
"Kal mera lawyer papers bana k layega" Aryan informed her.
"Ankho hi ankho me ishara ho gaya, Baithe baithe jine ka sahara ho gaya" Arpita sang teasingly. She saw Aryan & Imlie looking at each other intensely.
Aryan left her wrist and then he went inside ignoring Arpita.
" Tum AKT se kisi baat ka badla le rahe ho" Imlie asked Aryan. She had followed him in his room.
"Shuru din se tumhara behaviour zyaada rude hai AKT se. Phir usse demote karke sports phir obituary aur ab agony aunt wala column. Achanak se bina kuch kahe itni aasani se tumne woh interview AKT ko karne diya. Aur phir terminate kar diya aur ab Tripathi's ke saare properties ke mallik tum banna chahte ho" Imlie said.
"Humne mazak mein nahi kaha tha ki hum Roma hai agar tum villain ho" Imlie continued
Aryan walked towards her and whispered in her ears "Meri Jungli Billi" in his deep baritone voice.
"Ab tum kya karogi." Aryan continued.

Imlie walked towards him & hold his wrist and said "Tumhe meri fire ka andaaza abhi nahi hai."
She moved more closer to him and whispered in his ears "Hum tumhare bohot kaam aa sakte hai"
She moved away. Whistling zaraa dil ko thaam lo , she exited his room.
The Next Morning, Aryan's lawyers had arrived with transfer of property papers where both Imlie & he signed.
Aryan transferred the amount (properties worth as of today) in Imlie's bank account sealing the transaction officially. Aryan was now officially the owner.
Aryan asked Imlie to go to Bhaskar Times via the taxi he had booked for her as he had other work & may not come to Bhaskar Times today.
Mr. Tripathi's uncle had lost a huge amount in gambling and the man he had lost to wanted the money back.
Aryan had gotten a call during reception party where he was informed that Mr. Tripathi's uncle was seen handing over the property papers to that man, Mr. Oberoi.
Mr. Oberoi had put up the house on market for sale. And Aryan had shown his interest in buying that house. After all the negotiations between Mr. Oberoi & Aryan, agreed to sell this house.
Mr. Oberoi was eyeing one of the Tripathi's property which was near the property he had bought for construction of his new resort whose current owner was Imlie. Aryan in exchange of the property, wanted the house & a stake in his new resort as the property's value was much more than the house. Mr. Oberoi agreed as he was about to approach the new owner. This deal saved him from the efforts. Mr. Oberoi had heard Aryan Singh Rathore was a man of his word.
Aryan transferred the property to Mr. Oberoi & signed the paperwork of the Tripathi Niwas and the stake of ownership in Mr. Oberoi's new resort.
Tripathi Niwas was now his.
He made another deal with Mr. Oberoi to sell rest of the Tripathi's properties to him if he gave a stake of ownership & include him in Board of directors in his new booming business.
Aryan's lawyers had already prepared the paperwork. Mr. Oberoi agreed after his lawyers checked the new agreement and signed the paperwork.
Aryan sold all the Tripathi's properties except the house to Mr. Oberoi.
Aryan was feeling the thrill of a predator, a villain who was waiting in shadows to watch his masterpiece live. Oh, how he fervently wished to witness the end of Mr. Tripathi.
Aryan immediately sent the eviction notice to the Tripathi's that he had prepared in advance.
The Tripathi's received the notice to vacate Tripathi Nivas in two days. They were shocked to know that Tripathi Nivas was sold. AKT's uncle then confessed he had lost the house in gambling.
The only property they had left. No job, no house, they're savings were almost empty.
They had no choice but to ask Malini for loan from her parents.
Malini's Mom was in jail & her father once again absent. She called him demanding him Imlie's flat to accommodate her family. She knew it would be difficult to arrange such large sum of amount in 2 days.
Her father asked Malini regarding the flat as she was the owner.
Malini called Imlie for the flat. She demanded again for the flat "kaunsa flat?" Imlie replied.
"Bakwas mat karo Imlie woh flat jo dad ne tumhe diya" Malini said
"Acha woh wala. Wo humne sell kar diya. Area safe nahi tha" Imlie replied.
"How dare you wo dad ne kharida tha?" Malini said the voice slightly raise.
"Wo mere naam pe tha flat, chahe originally kisi ne bhi kharida ho. Toh uska kya karna hai wo mein decide karungi tum nahi" Imlie said & cut the call.
Imlie heard a ruckus outside Bhaskar Times. AKT was trying to get in the Bhaskar Times. But the security didn't let him in.
The interview teaser was played throughout the day on Bhaskar Times News Channel. At 8pm, that night the interview aired. A lot of people had tuned in to watch the interview because of the teaser. Imlie's style was simple, neutral and polite. They talked about the incident as well as the biasedness, a woman faces everyday. Imlie revealed she was AKT's ex-wife and bad experience in the relationship.
The interview did some damage control. Many people were commenting on Twitter #AajKiBaatWithImlie was trending along with #JusticeServedAKTSacked.
Arpita was watching with Imlie the interview and she was impressed and complemented her job & professionalism she maintained. Aryan just entered, he just uttered 'Nice Job' & went to his room.
He hadn't come to office today.
Aryan in his room, removed Imlie's payal from his wallet. He then started playing with the payal, his mind on it's owner.
"Aryan" Imlie called. Aryan looking at her, payal still visible in his hand.
"Ab toh hum jaa rahe hai toh tum mujhe rokoge nahi." Imlie said and went close to him.
"Ye humari payal hai" Imlie said.
She leaned forward more closer to Aryan and took the payal from his hands.
"Shukriya" she said and kissed his cheeks.
