THIS. YES. Lately, I’ve been feeling all sorts of conflicted about this show for the same reasons you’ve so eloquently pointed out. I find it to be progressively losing relatability, and the lack of introspection on characters’ part and continuity/connectivity in the storyline is a major part of it. The whole pull of the Aryan-Imlie equation was the way they slowly and steadily built an understanding of each other. Ever since they got married, they’ve barely shown them having a true conversation of substance about their marriage, or virtually anything. They haven’t even started addressing the real reason as to why Aryan forced Imlie to marry him in the first place (and the track they’re on right is directly related to that). But the fact that Imlie has already accepted not only the marriage, but the fact that she might have feelings for Aryan as well this quickly with barely any, if not no inner conflict at all, is rather strange to me given how firm of a believer she was of the ‘love and marriage happens only once’ idea. I don’t get why the makers are in such a rush already to show physical proximity between them when arylie literally have the perfect foundation for the perfect slow burn romance.
I have no issues with Narmada turning negative, but her slapping of Imlie and the content of what she said regarding her past (which has absolutely nothing to do with her) despite having seen everything unfold in front of her eyes, is an illogical and unacceptable way of going about it to me. It had absolutely nothing to do with what she claimed her issue was, that is Imlie’s involvement each time Aryan gets hurts (which again, I have to point out that each time Aryan got hurt, it was actually either due to something to his/his family’s benefit or his own choice to be there). What I do have a real issue with though, is the fact that they’ve already started deflecting blame from her to BM/BD in today’s episode. They may have manipulated and instigated her, but the conscious choice to act on it was ultimately 100% hers. The show needs to show accountability on her part instead of downplaying it as her being “just caught up”.
