Dejection

Okay so I'm really holding this rant since morning. But I'll put forward my frustration since I really feel dejected and robbed as viewer. And maybe different perspectives can counter my grudge😕

I really want to know what purpose this whole track served? Except establishing the already known fact that ASR's undoing is imlie's love. Other than that, what else???

Let us revisit why ASR did what he did. And the whole foundation of their story. He wanted her to learn self preservation which can not be attained without a little selfishness or the guilttrip of being considered as selfish. Also the fact that she always had a choice in this to Walk away but she chose to play victim instead. Because walking away meant the hard way of letting go.

Just as SK said about the previous lead. His neeyat wasn't right. He's right. Because neeyat means intentions, either good or bad. It's not coveting something sexually as most people assumed. So this character's neeyat wasn't right because he didn't want to choose between sisters. He basically wanted both. It wasn't being indecisive. It was a fault of neeyat. So now there's imlie having same problem. She doesn't want to choose.

Many people felt relieved today that she walked away and chose herself. But did she really? Since she always free to choose herself and walk away. The way I see it. Today stamped the fact that she belongs to the cage. Since that's what her true nature is?? And Aryan basically made peace with this fact. Tripathi toxicity won👏

Aryan backed down, accepted defeat. Took his sharts back. Akt is free. Okay. It all came back to full circle. Everything down the gutter. His efforts of teaching her tough love, to liberate her at the cost of becoming a villain in her eyes. It all came down to this. He backed down. What did she learn? Nothing. And today's episode just validated the fact that she's right. Always was. Right to run after Tripathis, neglect her life, career and pick a jharu. Because that's who she is! So she's free to continue running after them and he'll what? Keep running after her to clean her mess and rescue her while she keeps getting into trouble for her Apne? Because he's irrevocably in love? That's what ASR's character has come down to? If not what else?

Now coming back to initial question. Now what? Even after eons, even if she does directly reject AKT, it won't be because of herself but because now she's in love with Aryan?

I don't know if I'm making any sense. But I feel robbed as a viewer.

You make complete sense and I agree. Imlie hasn’t learned anything from this track which should have been the purpose of it. Her growth.

That's the thing. Even if tomorrow she comes back. It's because she's true to the 18 year old character she started at. Where is the damn growth after NDEs, divorce, heartbreak, Aryan's mentoring?

Shaadi was missing for some months, or they were being too understanding as an ITV couple. These are the only two reason I can think about.

Not even iota of character development occured in this track. Or I think this track was for white washing T clan. Even though I still cringe whenever Rupi tries to tease Aryan and Imlie 🤢but I think they made Ts take a dip in holy water and they came out as supportive ex-in-laws.🤪

I can't agree more on choice factor. Imlie does not has it in her to chose herself first ever.Atleast for one freaking time I want to see Imlie choosing herself without seeing what consequences it have in other people's life.

Once, just once. I have only this one fantasy. That choice can be between anyone. Even if it is Aryan, I will be happy.( Universe, are you listening. Make it happen)

1. Imlie became free cos Aryan took decision for her. She didn't take decision that he ws waiting for her to take. He was thinking since haldi evn during phera why u doing this. He still don't known about BD plan of imlie but it don't matter cos she came back. So she is free cos Aryan took decision for her. We still don't knw if she really went also or not cos manu ppl saying it's a dream.

2. What abt Aryan revenge? Imlie only don't want him to book akt in false case n he took shart back but dont think he will thrown his revenge. It's not possible.

I wish imli comes back and says - I want to do this marriage... so I came back - not for anyone else..... tooo far fetched ?????

OK, at least she understands what aryan has done for her ...only for her... nothing for revenge.

@bold: this is exactly what I could see in the past few episodes. And today with Aryan rationalising and coming to terms with Imlie's saviour syndrome nature, I'm a bit disappointed.

Had the sole reason of him bowing out was him coming to understand her trauma with marriage and forcedness, I could appreciate it but with this acceptance, I'm like meh! Pyaar ne Aru ko kya se kya bana diya 😭

Having said that, there's a life time ahead of them. If he can still have his ASR wits around him and not completely become a sappy lover boy, I do really hope slowly his influence on her increases and he's able to guide her better.

@bold: Me too 😒 But still hands down, one of the best male leads in ITV I've seen ever! ❤️ My admiration trumps my frustration everyday and I end up watching the show.
