So like a masochist, I went on Twitter to see what the public there thinks about the show. There was a huge debate regarding Aryan pulling Imlie close aggressively. Now this is a 4Lions show and these kinds of scenes are a regular thing. However, if I find Aditya’s verbal abuse atrocious, I also find it inappropriate Aryan’s use of aggression. It’s not romantic and hurts the one being pulled physically. We need better depiction and standards of behavior of men on ITV. The precap and the other Arylie scenes were great. What is the need for scenes that show physical force? I am trying my best to use the best possible words here. Because as a viewer I know that Aryan isn’t a character that would ever want to harm Imlie, intentionally or unintentionally. Hence this scene didn’t sit well with me. The production house needs to work on this. I’m a full on Arylie shipper and hope for better scenes in the future and can’t wait for the rest of the week.

You are not the only one... I have gone over this in the Arylie DT I suggest you see the conversation surrounding this scene there.

This production house makes shows in which no matter how much abuse the women endure at the hand of guys then end up thinking the world of them.

Be it Geet, IPKKND, Qubool Hai, Ishqbaaz and etc etc.

In each of these shows women have been broken with abuse hurled at them and even have been manhandled.

I shared my own thoughts as well on the DT thread.

I think regardless of anything, I am happy that people are finding this behavior problematic. That is the least that I could have hoped for.

Even in the era of Geet, IPKKND, people rarely batted an eye over the manhandling of FL's. But the fact that people are upset about this is a great sign.

I also wish that ITV would stop glorifying this kind of abuse. I have quit shows I loved very much because of the same (looking at you Pandya Store :( ] and I won't bat an eye if that happens again.

A disappointing scene/ act by Aryan... On the lines of msg deletion but it was more hands on so evn more questionable.

It can only be rationalised as an act of pulling her back to real world when someone has seizures kind of and

Accepted only if it's a one time thing and counterbalanced by his future actions.

and i was the first one to read your post before even start the episode and when that happened.. i was upset so bad that i dint even want to go to DT to discuss.. i am still away cause i just cant see that behaviors in the light of Romance/Passion/Chemistry... i can drop shows like a hot cake if such things happenes.

abt people questioning thats good thing but such things still happening ever after 10 years in same 4lion shows that something to be thought well n hard.. like how come production house can even dare to repeat such things.. it means they find viewers for such scenes.. they find people who still go ga ga over such manhandling questioning is ok but still its far away from making any impact so that PH will stop repeating such things.

for example.. when i started kdramas 10 years back they this typical Wrist Grab thing (what aryan does with arm holding).. male lead used to literally drag Female Lead holding her wrist so badly.. and it was all normal than and shows become so famous (BOF once such example).we fans cried loud and hard for such things and now i can see the difference. such scenes are gone.. not just gone they are treated better.. if a male lead grabs a wrist one FL broke the hold and dared to ask him why.. another one had guts to just glare at him and he loosens his grip (mind you she dint looked at him helplessly but glared with anger...)

so until start boycotting such scenes alongwith questioning.. such things will not stop

PS i am so happy to saw ur post on DT nd that gave me courage to post mine too.. otherwise i wouldnt hv posted mine. thank you so much for being on same boat.

That was genuinely Gul's regular BS and has to be taken as such. It was a character break and I see it separately from the other two scenes

It's just useless that they don't actually work on how to portray conflicting without resorting to crappy tropes. I hope they keep it to the minimum.

Thank you so much! I always get nervous posting about my criticisms for things like this because there are always a handful of people that still defend it without meaning to. For example, even if it was out of character, it was still his character that did that action.

I can't express to you how much I appreciate your message as I get nervous about expressing my own distaste since I know how much people love Arylie.

Honestly seeing that scene within two minutes of watching that show, really effected me too. I just couldn't get into the rest of the episode after that which is why I still think the entire episode could have gone without that.
