Eagerly waiting... in real there was no wedding night, as always DD talk ruined the mood. Let’s see what’s here in store after their wedding day today 😂
Part 23:
Later that night...
Imlie crept into Emmy's room to find her fast asleep on Aditya who in turn was also asleep on the arm chair. Nice, came to put the baby to sleep and fell asleep himself.
Imlie watched them fondly for a short while, before moving to take Emmy off him. This startled him awake.
Imlie: Shhhh...
She put Emmy in her cot and quickly took Aditya's hand and crept back out.
Aditya rubbed his eyes: I didn't know I was so tired.
Imlie teased: So am I, but I usually wait until after the baby is asleep.
Aditya yawned: Coffee, I think.
Imlie, in surprise: You want to stay up longer?
Aditya smirked: It's our wedding night.
Imlie blushed: Oh...
Aditya pulled her close: I hope you weren't planning to sleep like a baby tonight.
Imlie pushed him out of the way: I will make coffee.
As she was stirring the drinks, Imlie suddenly slowed down.
Aditya: Penny for your thoughts.
Imlie: It feels surreal.
Aditya moved closer: What does?
Imlie: Us, like this. Married. With nothing and no one between us.
Aditya raised an eyebrow: Are you saying you miss the mess?
Imlie smiled: No...I am just not used to being happy.
Aditya brushed her hair aside and kissed the nape of her neck: Well, get used to it. I am not letting anything come between us again. That includes my family.
Imlie sighed: I was thinking...it might be best to leave for India at the end of the month. I want to see my family and you can go see your family too. Wrap up what you need to it terms of the job and rental, etc.
Aditya took a step back, hurt: You don't intend to bring me to your parents'? I suppose...given everything that transpired, they might not be thrilled to see me.
Imlie held his hand: No, no, you are most welcome. But I think it is best for both security reasons and other reasons if I don't see your family.
Aditya looked at her, wide-eyed: You don't want it known that we are married officially?
Imlie: I am starting to think it might be best left unsaid. It will make the Nishant Bhaiyya case less complicated. And your family will not like the idea of me coming back anyway.
Aditya ernestly: But I want them to know that I married you. I want to see their faces when they see how big you are now. You have worked very hard and you deserve it.
Imlie: It's not as easy as that. I have a child now, Aditya. And Alex will be with us too. They will think I am some characterless person now on top of being low class...
Aditya: Stop. Stop this right now. This is not about security. You are worried about my family judging you again. How can they!? They didn't see me as characterless when I was having a real child with her when I was with you, rape or not. And you are not to see yourself as low born or any of that nonsense. You mom is the classiest person I have ever met.
Imlie: You are a man, of course your family didn't blame you, Aditya. But they will think Emmy is Alex's and they will think I roped you in again.
Aditya sighed: Look, if you don't want to see them, I completely respect that decision. But I would like to go meet your parents and take their blessings, if you allow. And no one will point a finger at Emmy while I am alive. Is this cup for me?
Imlie gave him his coffee: Yes.
They watched on Netflix for a while as they enjoyed their coffee. Imlie snuggled closer under the throw blanket. This was the safest she had felt, well...ever. She took a deep breath and kissed his hand.
Imlie: I wish we could always be like this.
Aditya pulled her closer and kissed her head: We will be, from now on.
Imlie: I keep feeling like something will go wrong. Our lives have always been so complicated...this feels deceptively simple.
Aditya: That's because we simplified it over the years. You were single and I was single until yesterday. Well, married, but not together. We don't have those horrible Chaturvedis around anymore. I chose you and you chose me. It is simple.
Imlie turned and looked up at him: You promise nothing will go wrong when we go to India?
Aditya: I won't let anything go wrong. We will come back here and live our lives before long. Just don't try to meet the Chaturvedis.
Imlie sighed: No chance of that. By the way, thank you for inviting Alex. That was kind.
Aditya: He wants to be present in Emmy's life. That's his right. And besides, I have plans for him.
Imlie: What plans?
Aditya looked at her meaningfully: You really didn't know he likes you?
Imlie shrugged: I wanted to spare his feelings, so I never acknowledged it. Besides, there is no shortage of women who would love to be with him.
Aditya: Hmm. I feel for him.
Imlie: That's enough hamdardi. Don't go on sacrificial mode now.
Aditya hugged her: I am not giving you up for anyone, don't worry about that.
Imlie: I have a surprise for you.
Aditya: What?
Imlie got up: Come.
She led Aditya to her room upstairs now. It was decorated with candles and the sweetest aroma filled the space.
Imlie: Last minute decorations. I did it while you were putting Emmy to sleep. And...I ordered this yesterday.
She ran over and brought back a jewelry box. Aditya opened it. It was a men's ring with an inscription in French inside.
Imlie, excitably: Do you like it?
Aditya: It looks very expensive.
Imlie, annoyed: Is that all you see?
Aditya: What does it say?
Imlie giggled: It says, "Imlie's sheheri langoor." But is it French, so people will think it is terribly romantic.
Aditya shook his head: Fine, then put it on your sheheri langoor.
Imlie was all smiles as she put it on him: Now everyone will know, you are mine.
Aditya: Including my family.
Imlie sighed: So be it. It's more important that you are marked so the other girls stay away from you.
Aditya rolled his eyes: What other girls? There are no other girls. Kuch bhi...
Imlie: My colleagues! They were going to be all over you at the party. Don't pretend you didn't notice.
Aditya laughed: Is that why you were so irritated that evening?
Imlie frowned: You don't know these women in the secret service...they are like hyenas.
Aditya sat down on the bed and pulled her on to him: I know one woman in the secret service. I wouldn't mind her having her way with me.
Imlie looked at him, teasingly: Is that right?
Aditya: She is pretty aggressive. (At her shocked expression, he continued). First time I saw her, she knocked me over and I didn't know what hit me from behind the haystack. Next time, she fell on top of me.
Imlie: You knocked into me!
Aditya, unfazed: Then, I saw her 10 years later and she straddled me and held me down...
Imlie smirked and pushed him back on the bed: Like this?
Aditya: Just like that. Scandalous woman!
Imlie whispered: What happened next?
Aditya: She listened to my heartbeat.
Imlie did the same again: Why did she do that?
Aditya: Because she came to save me again that day, like every other day I was in danger.
Imlie looked up in tears: And I always will.
Aditya cupped her face and brought her up for a kiss to seal that promise.
Imlie, teasing: What happened next?
Aditya smiled: She had her way with me.
Imlie tugged his shirt out of his trousers as Aditya held his breath: That's right.
More than this will not be appropriate. Leave your thoughts in the comments.
Like always... loved it. Like how Aditya loves Emmy, wants to meet Imlie’s family and wants her to meet his.
Why Aditya left his family? Did they force him to stay with Malini and baby? Did I miss anything? Did they not accept her in your story?

This story started when Malini was pregnant and the family was not accepting Imlie. So yes, they never accepted her and rather than staying like a doormat trying to win sexist "bujugs" over, she left Aditya who was putting more faith in Malini. Imlie did not forgive him for the video deletion. She just did what was right for the baby. If you look at the prologue, you will see.
Aditya never forgave his family for the way they treated Imlie. Later, he divorced Malini and stayed for a few years in that house until his aunt and mom tried to arrange for him to marry someone else. This broke all boundaries for him because he thought of himself as married to Imlie even though Imlie told him to forget their informal, religious wedding.
