Hey people of the forum 🤗. Won't say am new here cuz I have been peeping in this forum for a while now and used to be pretty active 4 years back.
I think Humsafars is absolutely amazing the only show I currently watch on television. 👍🏼

I believe Sahir (aka) Harshad is just mind blowing as the male protagonist. I find his characterization, intense, agile, ruthless to an extent yet mellow and somber too with a hint of curiosity and future possible ishq junoon types love capability. We all know, like all Gul Khan productions there has been a past girl in the male protagonist's life. In Sahir's case I believe it was the cerulean blue damsel at the auction who at some point in his life decided to play with his emotions and probably disappointed him immensely, in what fashion is yet to be discovered. I admit I am super excited for him, he is probably going to reach the standards Sobti's Arnav set, in due time.

Aarzoo is blunt, caring, passionate and extremely ambitious. I find her character refreshing in contrast to the other telly bahu leads, though of course she will become the Choudhary bahu too. 😳 She needs a lot of work though in terms of expressions. I think by the end of a month or two she will be able to emote better. She has a wonderful palette of emotions to work with. There is an innocence to her and her mind is yet to be trained to concoct kharafati plans so readily available to Khushi and at times Geet. 😆

Things the show is doing really well.

1. Characterization: Love the way things are unfolding, balanced beautifully and I hope it remains this way.

2. Writing: The dialogues are witty, innovative and hilarious. Kudos to the writers 👏 One of the reasons I loved Khushi was because of her banter and even though Aarzoo does not banter she does not mince her words either.

3. Internal convos: Atleast Sahir hasn't been doing that like Maan, God that was irritating. 😕

4. Million one scene shots: Again the slow pace of Geet has not been repeated here making the show quite peppy and not syrupy sweet like Geet where they had an eyelock in every second frame.

5. Execution: I know the storyline is nothing new and the concept of Aarzoo's dad leaving her mom for a son after 3 daughters seems loaned from Zindagi Gulzar Hai but again I am sure ZGH was not the first to discover it either. I see hints of a Raizada in the Choudhary too but like I said the execution matters most and the way they have executed it seems fresh.

Things I am unhappy about

1. Costumes: For the love of God upgrade Aarzoo's wardrobe. I'm sure even teens in Lucknow don't wear palazzos with shirts these days. This is so last year. The precap showed her in a different attire and they better stick to decent clothing now. Anam seemed boring with her orange lippy and black costume and she wants to be the Vice President for a fashion house... really!!
To top it all Alveera's dresses jewellery and make up sucks. Tonight's costume was a wardrobe disaster in all angles.

2. Diction and grammar: Considering this is a Muslim drama the actors should be taught the basic greeting with the right diction. Everyone goes around As slam Alaikum so not how it is pronounced. Also Alveera's elder son said about his wife that she doesn't care about her pati, slip up, muslim husbands don't call themselves patis.

I think these are the only two things that bother me and I believe they can be worked upon and improved. All in all am pretty happy Gul has come up with something for me to watch on Telly 😊

P.S this post has been written with no negativity towards the forum, the said characters and Production house. I would hope to not be subjected to undue criticism a harsh lesson learnt in other forums.

hello😊
as far as the diction is concerned...i would just like to point out to a thing or two

in india...we have regional muslim families...by regional muslim families i mean maybe few generations back they belonged to some other religion and converted to islam.

so you find ppl who r punjabi muslims, malyali muslims, bengali muslims, gujrati muslims etc

these ppl use the local language i.e bengali, gujrati and punjabi etc in day to day talks

thats y u never see them using pure urdu or farsi generated words

isiliye most of them do say "salaam walekum" rather than assalam walekum
