Ever since this show has started we've noticed that there has been a lot of talk about corruption. So let's talk about corruption ourselves. What is corruption?

According to Britannica: corruption, Improper and usually unlawful conduct intended to secure a benefit for oneself or another. Its forms include bribery, extortion, and the misuse of inside information. It exists where there is community indifference or a lack of enforcement policies. In societies with a culture of ritualized gift giving, the line between acceptable and unacceptable gifts is often hard to draw.

But what is corruption in your definition? What do you think it implies to the common person? How does it effect people? Let's discuss all these and more aspects of corruption here this week.

From a govt lecturer point of view...

As my mom is a govt lecturer gets transfer every year...so its not possible to take transfer every year and shift to a new place as my studies will also have to suffer...so for my studies sake my mom contacted many people to stop her transfer but nothing is possible without money...so for stopping her transfer she pays 25000-30000 each year...This can not be called as corruption till some extent... For every action the govt employees are asked to pay some fine/fees...

Once they stopped my mom's salary and asked her to pay 5000 then only they will release my mom's salary...and they told that if my mom says no then she will have to go 5-10 places to get her salary...so my mom decided to give 5000 rather than goin to 5-10 places which are very far from each...Cant we call it as corruption...

I dont know other members POV...I know many people will not agree wid me...

Actually Nidhi, thanks for bringing this new point to light. I never knew that it was too such an extent that people needed to pay money to get things done.

Anyone else want to share their POV?
