I found this on a blog...
I think the whole theory is implausible, But u never know with J.K.Rowling
Last night, I had a revelation. I am so brilliant, I can't contain it. Yay, me!
Now, everyone knows of the popular 'Harry Potter's scar is a Horcrux' theory.
Then there's the 'Neville Longbottom is the Chosen One' theory.
And the 'Harry and Voldemort die' theory.
And Rowling's said that the two-way mirror is going to be back this book.
Link 'em, and this is what you get:
Voldemort gives Harry a scar, makes it a Horcrux, and plans to use it for the bits of his soul that tore off when he killed Harry's parents. But, he puts more of himself into the Horcrux than he planned, and thus, 'loses power'.
Why? Cause his soul wasn't as torn as he thought it was – he'd only managed to kill ONE of them; ONE OF HARRY'S PARENTS IS STILL ALIVE.
Hence, Voldemort, unaware, goes ahead and puts more of his soul into the scar than he should have, etc.
Hence, Harry CANNOT be the Chosen One, since his parents DIDN'T die trying to save him - ONE OF THEM IS STILL ALIVE.
So, Neville is the Chosen One.
Neville's parents probably went insane trying to protect him from the Death Eaters, which, as Harry states in Book the Fifth, is worse than them dying - for Neville, in any case.
Harry dies. Neville kills Voldemort.
But first, Harry uses the two-way mirror to find his living parent.
There's the whole 'Lily Potter is related to the Weasleys' theory, cause of her red hair – I don't know how plausible that is, but if she's the one that's alive, then it's probably true.
Also, Harry should have been able to see the thestrals right from the beginning, cause he's SUPPOSEDLY seen his mother die, but he only starts seing them in his fifth year, once he witnesses Cedric Diggory's death. Rowling didn't have a plausible excuse for this supposed 'mistake', which, come to think of it, is too glaring to be one in the first place. Inference: Harry didn't see the thestrals because he didn't see his mother die, because she DIDN'T DIE.
And I'm raving about this at two in the morning to the sister, and all the sister can say is 'You are extremely silly'. Which is rather rich, coming from her, considering she watches 'Pokemon' on Cartoon Network.
