So wat i think is that snape isnt really evil and he was forced by dumbledore himself to kill him. if u remembered he said 'severus please' which may mean that he was pleading to snape to kill him against snape's will maybe dumbledore thought that by his death something good will happen........... well we'll let that know in book 7..
