Security at the GGP printing plant in Germany has reached an all time high since the day they began printing copies of the extremely highly anticipated
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. According to
The Age, all bags and lunchboxes are searched, as are lockers, desks, and other work areas. Video cameras and guards have been positioned in a number of locations around the plant to ensure that no copy of the book leaves the plant. Also, tape recorders and photographic cell phones have been banned.
A worker at the plant said, "We heard that the British publishing house that gave our company the contract wrote a clause saying that we would be liable for something like $4.9 million if a single word of the new book leaked out before publication day."
The reasoning behind the extreme security is the value of a leaked manuscript of
Half-Blood Prince, which, at this point, could potentially sell for millions on the black market.
