I wonder when Nikhil will call them mom/dad, ma/papa or whatever. Anything other than uncle and aunty, lol. I wonder if her parents find it odd or they just let it go because he's a city boy😆

I gather thats why he is doing that but once a person gets married shouldn't they call their in-laws by their relation to them? I'm sure if Ishana were to have married Nikhil she would not have carried on calling Barka and Inder, uncle and aunty and same with Nikhil with Ishana's mom...

i think what matters is the respect... what you call doesn't matter if it is without respect...

Parm, if a person knows their INLAWS before they get married in general they use the same thing.
My sisters husband calls my mom Masi as we knew them before they were our neighbors.

I agree with you Di but I think it wouldn't be so hard for him to change as he only knew them for a matter of days before marriage. My own SIL is a family friends daughter. We grew up playing with each other and she always called my parents auntie and uncle and brother the same to her parents. My brother had no problem calling her parents mom and dad but it took a while (I think it was a year or so) before it became habit for her to do so as well.

This is why I was thinking it would be easier for Nikhil to do so as he knew them just for a short period...
