Gulaal gives her thread to Talli to tie, when Talli goes to take the thread Gulaal's mother holds her hand back and looks angrily at Gulaal. She asks Gulaal what is she doing, Talli is a kid but Gulaal is mature, Talli is unmarried, how can she do the prayer. Gulaal tells her that Talli has fasted too, her mother says that it is one thing to fast but entirely different to go through with the prayer. Talli feels hurt. Her mother tells Gulaal how can she change and break rituals. She tells Talli kindly why is she so impatient to do the prayer, once she gets married she has to do it every year anyway. (I am so glad her mother said this - Talli is too impatient to get married to Kesar and her insecurities make her behave like this even more). Gulaal's mother indicates to her to come and pray. Gulaal consoles Talli and asks her to hold her elbow while Gulaal prays so that Talli too can participate in it holding Gulaal's hand. Talli does so, Gulaal's mother looks on not too happy. Everyone then empties their plate of offerings and offers everything to the tree. Since Talli is unmarried and cannot offer her plate, Gulaal takes her plate and does it on her behalf. Gulaal's mother looks on shocked. Rohan comes telling everyone that Kesar has arrived. Gulaal's mother takes this distraction as an opportunity and takes Talli to the side and gives her money to get some offering for her. Talli leaves.
Paan Baa happily tells Sudha that Raman has come. Gulaal's mother asks Gulaal if she is done, Gulaal looks for Talli, her mother tells her that she must be somewhere, Gulaal asks what is the hurry, she tells Gulaal that Kesar has come, Gulaal has to touch his feet and break her fast. Gulaal looks uncomfortable.
Kesar comes out of his jeep, Gulaal comes there and sees him. Kesar smiles seeing her. Gulaal uncomfortably bends down to touch his feet, he stops her with his hand. She tells him that according to the ritual she has to touch his feet. He tells her no need. (I think he is taken with her since she has dressed up so much). Gulaal is uncomfortable and cannot meet his eyes. She tells him that she knows he is angry with her, she was upset too after that act, no matter what she should not have hit him. He tells her that whatever she did was correct, it was his fault, he provoked her. Gulaal looks up at him surprised. He continues that he doesn't know what has happened to him these days, what is going on inside, he is fighting his own fight inside, he has so many questions in his mind, which is why he is getting to involved in them, he doesn't understand what is happening to him. Gulaal gets emotional. (I don't know if she is going through the same thing). She diverts the topic and says that everyone is waiting for them, they should go. (I hate it that every time Kesar bares his heart Gulaal ignores it and diverts the issue). He asks Gulaal in such a cute and expectant and hopeful way whether she did the fast FOR HIM. Gulaal the martyr and wet blanket says that she did it because Baa said. Kesar cutely smiling and happy tells her that Baa said, but Gulaal kept it. Gulaal doesn't know what to say and tells him that they should leave. (I love love love this scene, Kesar all cute and hopeful). Gulaal turns around to leave when a gust of wind comes and sweeps Gulaal's sari and uncovers her head, the sari end goes right on Kesar and covers his head. Gulaal looks around, Kesar removes the sari from his head and looks at her lovestruck. Gulaal covers her head and leaves. Kesar looks on totally lovestruck and cannot take his eyes off her.
Reva asks where Gulaal and Kesar are, looks like they will have to remain hungry because of them. Gulaal and Kesar come there, Kesar tells Reva that he will not let anything happen to her, which is why he brought Yogesh along so she doesn't have to wait to go home to break her fast. Gulaal's mother brings Gulaal back since Gulaal had gone a bit away to the side. Raman says that Kesar is like a kid, he kept insisting that they come else he will carry them, else he would not have come. Sudha feels bad. Kesar says how could Raman not come, he would have to come since Sudha fasted for him, and the experience of these rituals is different. Raman asks Kesar what does he know about these rituals. Gulaal's mother says that how can Kesar not know, the real romance between husband and wife comes out in these rituals. While saying the last part she holds Gulaal's elbow and indicates towards her and Kesar. Gulaal is uncomfortable, Kesar is happy and smiling. Paan Baa and Poonam Baa tell the women to break their fast.
Reva goes to Yogesh, touches his feet, and they feed each other. Sudha and Raman do the same. Kesar looks at them longingly, while Gulaal is standing uncomfortable and stiff. Gulaal's mother gets the plates and asks Gulaal to do the same with Kesar. Kesar waits expectedly. Talli comes out and sees Kesar excitedly. Talli gives Poonam Baa the offering, and Poonam Baa looks annoyed that Talli the glue came at the wrong time. Talli covers her head waiting for Kesar to notice the dress and praise her. She stands like a new bride or something. Gulaal is nervous that Kesar will get upset at seeing Talli's dress. Kesar doesn't realize it at first and continues smiling happily, Talli the idiot asks him to look at her clearly and smiles. Kesar looks and his smile fades into anger when he realizes that Talli is wearing the dress he gifted Gulaal. He looks at her up and down and gets furious and hurt, Gulaal notices his change in expression, but dumb Talli continues grinning like an idiot totally oblivious to Kesar's expressions.
Kesar asks Talli where she got this dress from, Talli says from Gulaal. Kesar looks at Gulaal, their eyes meet, but Gulaal doesn't even look like she understands his feelings of hurt. Talli continues asking Kesar how she looks. (Someone pass this girl a book on "He's just not that into you"). Talli starts saying that he wanted to hide it from her, but now... Kesar interrupts angrily saying that he told her this dress is not for HER, then why did she...Talli looks very hurt. Gulaal seems to care more about Talli's feelings at this point than Kesar from her expressions. Kesar looks accusatory at Gulaal, Gulaal looks down guiltily. Kesar turns around angrily and leaves. Paan Baa tries to stop him, Poonam Baa asks Yogesh to stop Kesar, Yogesh runs after him calling his name but Kesar leaves in the jeep. Gulaal looks concerned at a crying Talli. Poonam Baa looks furiously at Talli asking her what she said that Kesar left without completing the ritual. Sudha defends Talli and says Kesar behaves like this out of habit. Raman says that if this drama is over then they will leave as well. Gulaal wipes Talli's tears. Kesar is crying and driving the jeep fast and flashbacks to his gifting the dress to Gulaal and Gulaal's telling him to give it to Talli instead or getting a similar one for her. He then flashbacks to Talli's wearing the dress and almost has an accident with another vehicle.
Talli changes her dress and throws Kesar's gifted dress on his bed, and leaves in tears. Sudha complains to Gulaal that this cannot go on, Kesar left annoyed with Talli without caring what she must be going through. (Madam Sudha, everyone's world does not revolve around the annoying clingy spoiled brat named Talli like yours. Others have a life outside of her, and you shouldn't force them to care about Talli. I hate that every time something happens, Kesar is the bad guy even though Gulaal and Talli are wrong. No wonder the guy is so frustrated). Gulaal says she understands that Kesar should not have behaved like this, Sudha asks what did Kesar say. Talli comes there, Sudha asks Talli what Kesar said. She asks her where is the dress that Kesar bought for her. Talli tells her that the dress was never hers, Kesar never gave it to her, she was silly thinking happily that it was for her. Talli tells Gulaal that she told her that Kesar likes someone else, but Gulaal would not listen. She asks Gulaal that when Kesar left the dress with Gulaal, did he say that it is for Talli? Gulaal guiltily says no, but continues giving Talli false hopes saying that she should not lose heart. (OMG, I am so over Gulaal now. Why does she have to keep pushing her mission). Sudha tells her that she doesn't think Talli is wrong, Kesar always behaves like this with Talli, Talli tries to do something nice and returns with tears in her eyes, if there is something in Kesar's mind then why doesn't he just say so. (Because woman, Kesar doesn't need to, he is MARRIED to Gulaal, he owes explanation only to Gulaal and his parents, not to you or glue Talli. He is not going to go around declaring love for his wife. You are two fools). Sudha continues that Talli has been dreaming of being his wife since childhood, but Kesar...
Talli asks Gulaal if she thinks that Kesar will marry her. Gulaal says why not, Kesar will definitely marry Talli, if he doesn't marry Talli who will he marry. (All you three morons, Kesar is MARRIED). Talli insists that she thinks there is someone else in Kesar's mind. Gulaal denies it, Talli insists that there is someone else, Gulaal just doesn't want to see it. She tells Gulaal that there are many letters in Kesar's room that he takes a lot of care of and hides from everyone, Kesar writes letters to someone. Gulaal looks surprised and flashbacks to when she found a letter in her name and Kesar snatched it away from her. Gulaal asks Talli whether she read the letters, Talli says she didn't read them but saw them. Gulaal tells her that maybe the letters are to his city friends. Sudha tells Gulaal that Talli's life is in Gulaal's hands, Gulaal had promised her. Gulaal tells her that she remembers her promise, Talli's marriage will happen with Kesar. Talli cries and Gulaal hugs her. (No self-respecting woman would want to be second fiddle neither will a mother. What is Sudha achieving by thrusting Talli on Kesar, and doesn't Talli have any self-respect, but most of all, I don't think Gulaal gives two hoots about Kesar, her only concerns are Talli and her promise to Sudha. I have never gone from liking a character to not being able to stand her at all).
Gulaal is on the terrace and flashbacks to Kesar's words about so many questions, his fighting with himself inside, and Talli's question whether Kesar will marry her. She flashbacks to her mother's words about Kesar's caring about Gulaal. Gulaal thinks of all this and cries. Suddenly she hears a noise and sees fire and runs downstairs. Kesar angrily comes with the clothing as if he is going to burn it.
Precap: Kesar yells angrily at Gulaal with tears in his eyes that why doesn't she tell him the truth that she doesn't like the gifts he gets, why doesn't she tell him why she gave the clothing to Talli. Gulaal responds with tears that because Talli loves Kesar, Kesar is shocked hearing this. Gulaal continues that only Talli has a right over this clothing. Kesar tells Gulaal that Talli is just his friend, he has always seen her just as a friend, nothing more. Talli overhears this conversation and is surprised and upset. Kesar continues that he cannot ever even think about marrying Talli. (The way Kesar says this is so good, as if the very thought of marrying Talli is like a sin or impossible). Gulaal is shocked.
